here is an interesting ?
sorry i am mostly a lurker

ok so heller said the 2nd is a personal right if you live in DC. if you dont like it the constitution gives a way to change it... another amendment

but the bill of rights was ratified as one group of 10 amendments on dec 15 1791. if you where to amend the constitution changing the 2nd amendment would that not invalidate all of the other 9. i mean they where ratified as one package. the states accepted them together as a contract with the federal gov.

its like a contract to buy a car, if the dealer removes the warranty after the contract is signed it would invalidate the contract.

i might be wrong, but i think i have heard this before

at this point nothing has changed except legal law abiding citizens of DC can now register handguns. until there is incorporation under another law suit it does nothing to affect the 50 states, and all of this infighting will do nothing but divide the democratic party which is what the republicans would love to see

1. The States didn't ratify all of the proposed Amendments.
Congress proposed the first 12 amendments to the Constitution in 1789.

The first was never ratified by the States. The second wasn't ratified until 1992, when it became the 27th Amendment. The third through the twelfth were ratified by 1791 and became the first ten Amendments.

In other words, it wasn't a "package deal".

4. Possibly, a "package," but one which included Article V:
Article V makes no distinctions as to single or "package" deals with regards the amendment process ("...shall propose amendments..."). I believe a poster above may have goofed the date on 2A (1792 instead of 1992).
