20 handguns stolen from Sheriff's Department
"The theft of guns from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department’s property room by a part-time employee has Sheriff Donny Youngblood outraged and embarrassed and investigating how it happened and whether anything else is missing."

"The discovery of the theft came on May 14 when an 18-year-old man was arrested in Los Angeles for possession of a concealed weapon, deputies reported. The gun was traced to the Kern County sheriff's property room."

5. Criminal charges need to be filed against the sheriff.
And the department needs to have all of their guns confiscated. They allowed unauthorized persons access to the guns and they were obviously not stored securely or safely.

But of course, they are the government and won't be held accountable.

7. what to do, what to say ...

http://www.californiaconcealedcarry.com/counties/kern.html
Once more, certain individuals have been spreading unsubstantiated rumors about the Kern policy. I have exchanged emails with Sheriff Donny Youngblood, in person, and he assures me, once again, that the Kern County policy is unchanged, and that permits have been issued by him and that more are in the pipeline. ...

Toting a gun common in Kern
County state leader by far in concealed weapons permits

... Kern County gives out more permits to carry concealed weapons than any other county in the state, and has led the state in citizens who like to pack heat for at least the last 10 years.

"You have to remember that this is Kern County. It's always had more gun permits than in any other county in the state and it probably always will have more permits than any other county in the state," sheriff-elect Donny Youngblood said. "That's our culture. We believe in that."

What we believe in is electing conservative, pro-Second Amendment sheriffs, according to sheriff's Cmdr. Matt Lee, who has been in charge of reviewing the concealed weapons permit applications for the Kern County Sheriff's Department for the last couple of years.

Oh woe is me. I fear I am about to witness heads exploding.

9. c'mon folks!

Let's hear some more badmouthing of the big bad sheriff of Kern County and his bad little employees!

I was so looking forward to it.

The gun-lovin' sheriff of the gun-lovin'-est county in California. Elected by the gun-lovin' folks who live there and who make sure they elect second amendment-lovin' sheriffs and such.

Can't we have another chorus of how incompetent and untrustworthy and all-round awful law enforcement thingies are when it comes to all things gunz??
