Maryland Shall Issue Bill to be heard March 9th
Hopefully, Maryland will finally join ~36 other states and become Shall Issue for its residents.
Looks as if even gun control strongholds are starting to wake-up.

Gun Rights Bill to be heard March 9

With encouragement from Maryland Shall Issue, Congressman Don Dwyer submitted the "Citizens Protection Act of 2005" (HB 1211) with 35 cosponsors to the Maryland Congress. "This is the news we've all been waiting for," says one of the founders of MSI.

Proponents of self-defense are asked to write their delegates and if possible come to Annapolis fro the March 9th afternoon hearing to show support of the Shall Issue concealed carry bill, which will end the current capricious and arbitrary discrimination by government officials handing out permits.

Soon Maryland may join the 37 other states that allow law-abiding citizens to carry concealed firearms for purposes of self-defense.

The pressure of Maryland Shall Issue encouraged congresspeople to draft this bill. MSI now boasts over 1800 members from both major political parties as well as third parties and has distributed over three thousand bumper stickers.

How does the bill compare with other states (haven't had time to track it down)

Does it have reciprocity built in? here in NC, it took about 5 years after passage of our CCW law to get reciprocity .. but now I think I'm good in about 20 states.

It took several tries for NC, and I know that Missouri was VERY tough.
