'Singing' mob torches township leader's home - SA
The dispute over an empty piece of land in Hout Bay hotted up on Tuesday evening when angry residents smashed and burnt down the home of a community leader, in defiance of the police.

Goodman Ngwangwa, chairperson of the Sinethemba Civic Association, and his family had to spend the night at a friend's house after hundreds of members of the local branch of the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) torched his house.

Sinethemba, an organisation of about 2 000 original residents of Imizamo Yethu, and the Hout Bay Ratepayers' Association are in conflict with Sanco members over how a 16ha forest site in the area should be used.
