Report: China to Teach Sex Ed to Teens

BEIJING - China's largest cities have begun offering sex education to younger teenagers, as healthier diets push children toward earlier puberty, a newspaper reported Friday.

Rapid economic growth has fueled huge changes in Chinese society. Medical experts say improved diets in China's big cities means girls are entering puberty around the age of 11, about two years earlier than in the past, the Shanghai Daily reported.

"While physical maturity keeps advancing, girls, as a vulnerable group, are still immature psychologically," the paper quoted Huang Hong from the Shanghai No. 2 Medical University as saying. He cited the case of a 15-year-old girl who delivered a baby boy and then accidentally killed him while trying to keep her pregnancy a secret.

4. This must "legitimize" trade with China for Bush's evangelical base

This just smacks of how Bush would only acknowledge the lower AIDS rate in Uganda due to their abstinence programs. While ignoring other alternatives - i.e. more condom use.

I bet the right wingers are frothing that this new sex ed thing overshadows China's denial of it's AIDS epidemic which screams for more condom use and the Chinese government's use of forced abortions on it's citizens to keep their population down.

I love when hypocrisy is compounded by more hypocrisy
