Liberia rebels advance on capital
I like the part where they don't want to take the town and
are really just defending themselves.

Forces from Liberians United for
Reconciliation and Democracy, the
main rebel group, battled
government troops in Freeport, and many government soldiers were
pulling back.

The bridge is the last defensive point for the government troops.

The relentless advance comes as the LURD leadership in Ghana --
where Liberian peace talks have been taking place -- said it wasn't
interested in advancing into the center of the city, but only defending
positions that government forces were attacking.

Heavy gunfire and heavy mortar fire were heard around the sprawling,
chaotic town.
