WTO Rules Against U.S. Steel Tariffs

It is incredibly odd to see the Bush administration, the repository of corporate whores that it is, fight for protectionst tariffs.

I don't doubt for a second that this will be trotted out ad nausem whenever someone like me comes along and says the administration are a bunch of blue-collar hating, wealth-accumulating, corporate whores. "Oh we are in the corner of working-class America; look at the President's stand on steel tariffs."

Sadly, for too many people, exceptionalism and not empiricism rules. One example does a myth make, and many people will be swept up in this "roll up the sleeves-friend of the blue collar" image while the same President presides over the dismantling of the last vestiges of FDR's New Deal programs that guaranteed a safety net for those most in need for the last sixty years.
