Polisario leader warns of new war
The leader of the Polisario Front fighting for the independence of Moroccan-held Western Sahara has warned of a resumption of the fighting that ended
with a ceasefire in 1991.

"The Sahrawi people cannot remain indefinitely with their arms folded," Mohamed Abdelaziz said on Saturday at a ceremony marking the 32nd anniversary of the creation of the Polisario Front, an Algerian Press Agency report said.

"They will fight to assert their national rights by all legitimate means, including the resumption of the armed struggle."

Morocco annexed Western Sahara after former colonial ruler Spain pulled out of the large, phosphate-rich desert territory in 1975.
