Step it up campaign
Just passing this on for anyone interested:

===email message sent out to public===
Wouldn't it be great if thousands of people turned out en masse to tell Congress to cut global warming pollution by 80% by the year 2050?

Well, on April 14th that's exactly what we are doing!

SaveOurEnvironment.org's Exxpose Exxon campaign is partnering with Step It Up 2007 to hold a nation-wide day of action on global warming on April 14th, 2007.

This is expected to be the largest day of individual actions ever organized on global warming. People just like you will be gathering at more than 800 events across the country to call on Congress to cut carbon emissions 80% by 2050!

Scientists say we must cut carbon pollution by 2% per year by mid-century and hold global average temperature increases below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) if we hope to avoid the worst effects of global warming.

ExxonMobil, the world's largest, most profitable oil company, is using its nearly unlimited resources to double-cross America and fight global warming solutions in favor of its own short-term gain. Other major oil giants are setting emission reduction targets and investing in renewable energy but at ExxonMobil, it's business as usual. Like Congress, ExxonMobil is not immune to public pressure.

Join us on April 14th to send a clear message to ExxonMobil and Congress to step it up on global warming before it's too late. Please help make this nation-wide day of action a huge success!

We can reduce global warming pollution by using today's technology to make cars go farther on a gallon of gas, and by increasing our use of clean energy, such as wind and solar power.

No one person can do this alone, but together we can change the course of history.

Looking forward to Stepping It Up with you in April,
