Naked Science Glacier Meltdown Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at 06P Imagine a world where melting ice caps have raised sea levels by 20 feet and where the great cities of the world are under water. Is this the fate that awaits mankind? It is a nightmare scenario but the scientific community is paying closer attention to the recent rise in sea-levels. Naked Science travels to Greenland to meet a veteran Arctic and ice sheet expert, who explains how measuring the speed of the glaciers is one of the key ingredients in predicting how fast sea levels will rise in the future.
It's repeating this Wednesday. After seeing this last night, to be frank, I'm utterly terrified at what we have done to this home of ours. If every bit of ice on earth melted, the oceans would rise by over 200 ft!. I get so frustrated at man's utter stupidity. What do you all do to cope with these feelings?
