Geothermal pool a hit in Klamath Falls (OR)

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — When it gets cold in Klamath Falls, Sheryl Lane goes outdoors, jumps into the pool and watches the mist rise.

Ah, the pleasure of 80-degree water on a day when the air temperature is below freezing.

Lane is among many who use the Ella Redkey pool on Main Street in Klamath Falls. It uses the geothermal heat abundant in the area.

She swims several times a week with two friends, using underwater weights and doing exercises to stay in shape. She said she likes the comfort of working out in water, and she doesn’t have to fight for exercise machines.
