Thousands pay respects to dead whale in Vietnam - These People Get It
These villagers know how to respect a great animal. Let it decompose then build a temple in its honor from the bones.

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) -- Thousands of Vietnamese are making pilgrimages to a beach in southern Vietnam to worship a dead whale.

More than a thousand people -- many from hundreds of miles distant -- have journeyed to burn incense near the whale carcass discovered on the beach Friday, said a police officer in the Thanh Phu District of Ben Tre province.

2. Respect for the whale
They can worship what they please, I like that they treat it with respect rather than grinding it up for cat food.

3. You know
I actually think it's kind of wierd that they are worshipping a dead whale. What is to be gained by going through this exercise? I mean, really, wouldn't life be better for everyone if they just pushed it back into the ocean so other things could eat it? Really, that would be the most environmental thing to do.

6. I know people who worship Dead Humans
Some 2000 years dead.

But I don't want to get into this so, I'll just leave and go back to the lounge.

7. Over 100 Porpoises Washed up Dead Here in NW Florida...
And it's barely mentioned anywhere. I strongly believe that when a Naval Carrier Group entered the Gulf a few of weeks ago, culminating with a port-of-call in Pensacola 2 weeks ago, is the cause. Carrier groups include submarines, which use a new, more powerful form of sonar that basically destroys the "ears" of dolphins and whales. They haven't found any diseases at all in the dead dolphins - all of a sudden when this carrier group is doing war games in the gulf, over 100 dolphins wash up dead. Interesting.
