LOL LTTE in Roanoke on Sunday -- Santa's home isn't melting

Santa's home isn't melting

Children enjoy their favorite myths, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

Adults, too, enjoy myths, and currently the favorite myth is global warming. It may have displaced the theory of overpopulation.

But while childhood myths are charming, adult myths can be dangerous, given that adults can actually act on their myths.

But the evidence for Santa Claus is only slightly less convincing than the evidence for global warming.

So, fellow Henry County citizens, fire up your eight-cylinder, gas-guzzling SUVs and enjoy yourselves. I won't tell Al Gore and the other environmentalists that you're happy.

..cutting out idiot's name

1. One of their favorite arguments, I've heard, is...
In the 1970s, the big scare was global cooling & another ice age... so, these scientists don't know what they're talking about.

I need to come up with a good rebuttal for that one.

5. By that logic, the Repukes should be thrown out for financial prog-
nostication ...

In 1993, not one Republican voted FOR Clinton's budget ... many of them were predicting budget Armageddon, that the economy was going to go totally into the toilet due to the budget ...

Instead of their crystal-clear vision, we had the longest period of economic expansion in a long time ...

6. RealClimate has done the work...
There were some stupid things written in the popular press, but the "ice age" was never part of the mainstream scientific press.

2. No doubt this is hatrack's evil plot.....
I bet he sits in his evil fortress and cooks up all those satellite composites of the disappearing ice-pack in Photoshop. Making evil little snickering sounds and stuff.

3. wow. Wanna bet they also think that the evidence for Evolution
is lacking?

yeah, go ahead and be happy about getting 8 mpg. Because ignorance truly is bliss.

On a recent flight, I overheard someone loudly proclaim how the treehuggers ruined flying for smokers. meanwhile, the guy could barely breathe anyway, so perhaps his 2 smoke-free hours were an unwanted blessing, just as the fact that he was able to take a vacation or have a weekend off or any number of things which benefit him directly.

And keep in mind that I smoke, but I have no problem going hours or days or sometimes even a week without smoking. I bit my tongue on that flight because it's not worth it, and the guy was just looking for an argument it seems. On the bright side, absolutely no one agreed with him, so he eventually shut the hell up (except for his loud labored snoring).

Stupid "treehuggers" for trying to stop us from shitting where we eat. Damn them for trying to make the world a better place... :eyes:

4. I guess this wit-less writer doesn't believe we have a limited
supply of oil, either. Or that the blood of our military is spilt for acquisition of oil. How can people be so ignorant? Must be a Rush listener.
