Appalachian Voices
The new Appalachian Voices blog is up and running! We will be covering daily environmental, cultural, and political news for the Appalachian Region.

Our main focuses are on ending mountaintop removal coal-mining, clean air, and sustainable forestry. We will, however, be covering a wide range of issues from Appalachian literature and music, southern/mountain culture, and regional politics.

Hope you find us a useful resource! Keep up the great work!
peace,
JW

3. HA!
Couldnt agree with you more :)

Donna the Buffalo summed up the spirit of Appalachian music (and democracy?) well to me -
"We have our own heroes. They're dancing in the living room."

Me too. 500,000 acres flattened in West Virginia already!

Appalachian Voices also has a VERY impressive and resourceful Mountaintop Removal page, although I can't take too much credit for helpin with that one. :)

6. Good luck with the mountain tops.
I cannot imagine the hatred future generations will heap upon us when they look at the spaces where the mountains used to be.

On the other hand, I'm not convinced there will be future generations.

Thanks.

K&R.

8. There will be
You can't kill mountaineers. We're like ninjas w/ moonshine.

We'll be here, and so will the mountains, because of the continues interest and advocacy of everyone here.
THANK YOU!
peace,
jw
