8/3 Ice Update - Northwest Passage Open, Svalbard Edge Still Melting

Moving West to East - Alaska east of Barrow/Prudhoe Bay is the coastline in the lower left corner:




Moving east, open pretty much all the way to King William Island:



PLENTY of open water around Boothia and points north:



Meanwhile, at 80-81 North in the Barents Sea, the front continues to rapidly thin well north of Svalbard:



And Franz Josef Land's continuing to thin, well north and east of Svalbard:



Finally, NW Greenland: - Kane Basin Breaking up and Kennedy Channel (the final link to the polar ocean shown here in yellow) down to 50% at 80-81N and beyond:



One month to go to annual minimum - maybe a little more.
