New Beer Brand Brewed With Greenland Glacial Melt Water - BBC
A brewery in Greenland is producing beer using water melted from the ice cap of the vast Arctic island.

The brewers claim that the water is at least 2,000 years old and free of minerals and pollutants. The first 66,000 litres of the new dark and pale ales are on their way to the Danish market.

The beer from Greenland - a semi-autonomous Danish territory - costs 37 kroner (£3.40; five euros) per half-litre bottle. It is the first ever Inuit microbrewery - located in Narsaq, a hamlet 625km (390 miles) south of the Arctic Circle.

The beer is shipped to Stralsund, on Germany's north coast, to be bottled.

5. That's actually not a bad gimmick...
...especially if they donated a nominal percentage of sales to a global warming action fund of some sort.

Heck, it's made by Inuits -- since they're some of the earlier ones losing their livelihoods to global warming, it would be nice if they could replace some of it by brewing 'Global Warming Beer' from the glacial runoff.

Besides, the rest of us farther south are going to get damned thirsty, because it's going to get very hot. More beer would be good.

7. I just wrote in a thread today that I hope someone is capturing
this glacial runoff, lest we waste all this fresh water by letting it run into the sea. Cool that someone is (but sad of course that it's melting). Global warming or no (and I do believe in it, like 100% of scientists who have studied it), we're still heading for an ice age.
