I thought some of you might enjoy this story. I'd certainly be interested in hearing feedback from many of you on the science protrayed in the story.

1. The interview is interesting. I hadn't heard of this author before, thanks
He seems to take seriously the role of SF in making predictions about various futures, in the hope that, if we take appropriate action, some of them might come true, and some of them won't.

2. Paolo Bacigalupi had a story published in High Country News...
recently (june) called "The Tamarisk Hunter," set in the southwest after "Big Daddy Drought" settles in for real. He's an excellent writer, I enjoyed reading his story. I wish he had dealt with the biggest impacts of water loss, which will be agriculture (60% of current water usage) and industry (30% current usage). He talked about migration, but I think it will be not so easy to adjust as that. However, it was a short story, and he was focusing on one character's very specialized point of view.
