Energy Minister David Parker yesterday told a parliamentary select committee that officials were working through options for the tax and a proposal for consultation would be outlined in the next two months.
A final decision would be taken in May or June next year.
The Government scrapped its broad-based carbon levy in December saying the tax, which would have raised $360 million a year, no longer had enough support in the House. More at link.
