Hurricanes, tornados..end all hurr, many tornados..orbiting sunshade
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 05:27 AM by oscar111
Floridians, are you listening?

Kyoto is sadly slow to never.

we must do it ourselves. A sunshade will cost a small fraction of global warming's heat deaths, ruined economy, wars for water in parched drought areas, and a surge of mexican illegals coming to escape the heat.

A cheap idea for one is lasering dust off of the moon or an asteroid towed and hit by the laser to knock dust off.

refinements to both cheap ideas, invited.

of course, whatever is used for the sunshade, proceed step by small step looking for problems, solving them as they arise, and then going forward.

that handles environmental and chaos theory worries.

not to act , is to ignore how interfering with Nature has benefited man. Such as cures for diseases.. such as living in shelter, not under the rain and cold of Nature. Interfering with Nature is fine, if done carefully.

rollback warmning... now. A cooler planet .. as in May,... has almost no hurricanes, and fewer tornados.. weaker tornados.

and ignore dr. Teller.. others back the idea too.

1. Not this again...
If anyone wants it, I've got an excel spreadsheet to calculate the size and approximate orbit of an orbiting sunshade: you can tweak the percentage of sun covered, density and reflectivity. It also runs through the (newtoinian) math - PM me an email address.

Trust me, it's fucking big - 2.5 times the size of the US with my best-guess values.

I'll do another for a string of orbiting mini-mirrors if there's a demand for it, but it'll be just as bad, trust me.

As for pumping a load of shit into the atmosphere, don't get me started. Ever hear of "what goes up must come down"?
