New to this forum, but thought you'd like to see this news.
From our local NBC news channel:

Xcel maps out plans for solar electric plant

DENVER (AP) - Xcel Energy outlined its plans for a solar power plant Thursday.

The solar plant is part of Xcel's response to an initiative approved by voters last year. The initiative requires major utilities to get 10 percent of their electricity from such renewable energy sources as wind and solar power by 2015.

2. I think there should be a condition
The only renewable energy that is worth it is when less energy is used to manufacture the devices than they produce in their lifetime.

5. Thanks for the welcome but I should clarify
I've been a member of DU since the hideous 2004 election. I haven't posted very much but I'm trying to change that. However, this is my first venture into this forum.

6. If you start coming to this forum...
... you'll find that after a while you'll come here and ignore many of the others. At least that's what happened to me.
