:puke:
President Bush is expected to visit Monday a high-tech solar panel factory in Auburn Hills to talk about energy initiatives aimed at reducing the nation's dependence on foreign oil just as the company plans a major expansion.
Bush will tour United Solar Ovonic's facility across from The Palace, where a machine the length of a football field churns out thin, rugged panels that capture energy from the sun. Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman visited the plant last year and spoke at the groundbreaking for a duplicate factory nearby.
Bush's visit comes on the heels of Uni-Solar's announcement Thursday of another expansion that will dramatically increase its production output and create more jobs.
The company, a unit of Energy Conversion Devices in Rochester Hills, will double its capacity and hire about 200 employees this summer when its second plant opens. Uni-Solar intends to double its capacity again next year with a third factory and build more facilities to triple capacity between 2007 and 2010.
EDIT
Will he get any questions about fired scientists at NREL? I'd be willing to say "no".
