http://www.e10unleaded.com/whosays.htm Every major car company in the world approves the use of E-10 Unleaded under warranty. In fact, many go out of their way to recommend that you use E-10 Unleaded thanks to its clean-air benefits and high-performance qualities. The nice thing about using Ethanol10(Gasohol) is that you can use it with the car you are driving RIGHT NOW (unless, of course, you are driving a diesel). You don't have to spend thousands of dollars EXTRA to buy a new hybrid vehicle. But to help make Ethanol (Ethanol85, Ethanol10 or Ethanol15) more available so you can start helping reduce our expenditures for imported fossil fuel go to www.congress.org and tell your representatives that the Government needs to start aggressively promoting expanded availability of ethanol fuels. IF people can FIND ethanol, the demand will grow and production will increase.
Further, we need to have program to expand the production of ethanol too (interest free loans, tax incentives, whatever) to push up production of this fuel which is cleaner than gasoline and which can reduce our dependence on imported oil and strengthen our economy. We should have a goal of doubling ethanol production in 4 to 5 years. This would get ethanol supplies to transportation up to an amount which would provide some protection from the very likely coming oil supply disruption (natural or man made calamity). In addition to the risks to the oil supply continuity increasing demand from China, India and South America guarantees that demand will continue to grow and drive prices even higher than they are now. Adding to the supply of fuel with ethanol will help keep the prices from going higher and again will strengthen our economy by reducing the amount of money spent on imported oil.
Is this going to be the entire solution to fossil fuel dependency? - NO! But it will contribute to reducing demand for imported oil and we need to use every technology available to us - especially one which doesn't even require you to spend thousands of dollars on a new car (but when you are ready to buy a new car
Flexible Fuel Vehicles do not cost any more than a regular gasoline only car!) and especially a technology that will enable the quickest impact on fossil fuel demand!
