2. Hooray!
A far more plentiful and easily obtainable resource is in sight. Although I hope we eventually wind up with electricity-based vehicles. Still, this isn't a bad step. Seaweed is everywhere, not just in a few countries like oil.

3. Um, isn't seaweed the foundation of marine ecosystems?
You know; things eat seaweed, bigger things eat them, we eat the bigger things. That ecosystem.

Maybe we shouldn't just tear it apart to run our stupid SUV's.

4. Doesn't it go a little more like this?

Things eat seaweed, bigger things eat them, we eat the bigger things, we get mercury poisoning and die laughing.

5. Aquaculture produces pollution/nutrients that the seaweed is used to deal
with. So the seaweed reduces pollution and can be used for other purposes.
One such being worked on is to produce biogas. There is a large expansion of
aquaculture worldwide, and all such have major pollution problems. This appears
to have possibilities to deal with several problems synergistically.
