Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan 'unready for typhoon'
'Inappropriate measures'

"We have made utmost efforts, but we have not completed covering the damaged reactor buildings," a Tepco official said on Saturday.

"We apologise for the lack of significant measures against wind and rain," the official added.

Tepco has been pouring anti-scattering agents - such as synthetic resins - around the damaged buildings of reactors one and four.

But some of the buildings still remain uncovered after they were damaged by hydrogen explosions soon after the quake and tsunami struck.

5. It's TEPCO's fault and TKECF is **globally** traded on the NASDAQ.
Someguyinjapan, let's not make this disaster about an ethnic group, please.

6. It's NOT just TEPCO's fault
Edited on Tue May-31-11 06:17 AM by Someguyinjapan
It is the fault of the Japanese government for colluding once again with industry for it's own narrow ends at the expense of the welfare of its citizens.

It's the fault of the Japanese people for not holding their governments to greater accountability on this and other environmental issues that directly affected them. From 1955 to 2009-with the exception of a few months in 1993-the Japanese elected the SAME political party to power again and again, never once questioning the decisions said party was making. So of course the LDP began to think-rightly so-that they could make whatever decisions they wanted and would never have to answer for them because they didn't have to.

So, it is the fault of Japanese industry, successive Japanese governments and the Japanese people that this happened. Simple as that. And that's not being racist, that is telling it exactly like it is.
