If you go to this site, it's from the U.S. Navy plotting Arctic ice concentration, thickness, or displacement. You can then key in dates to look at.

http://www7320.nrlssc.navy.mil/pips2/archive/

For instance, I plotted today 04 Dec 2010, and 04 Dec 1998 (the first year it was available) and came up with the following

2010: http://www7320.nrlssc.navy.mil/pips2/archive/retrievepic.html?filetype=Thickness&year=2010&month=12&day=4

1998: http://www7320.nrlssc.navy.mil/pips2/archive/retrievepic.html?filetype=Thickness&year=1998&month=12&day=4

There's not an actual lot of difference between the two years, and in fact there is more ice in some sectors in 2010 than there was is 1998.

3. Denier Spotter Fail
Three of your articles deal with extent, not volume. One deals with a period before the records shown in my post. Only one (the last) deals with volume during a part of this period. I simply made an observation that for 04 Dec 1998 and 04 Dec 2010, there is a similar volume of ice shown in the images shown on the site I posted and that there is thicker ice found in some areas. If that's painting me as a denier, you have a very broad brush.
