U.S. Climate Bill Would Reduce Deficit by $19 Billion
As the debate in the Senate rages on, a new report shows the American Power Act will provide great relief to the U.S. deficit.

According to a new report released this week by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the American Power Act, if passed, would reduce the federal deficit by as much as $19 billion over the next decade.

3. Clinton-Gore COPS Program

Putting 100,000 More Police on the Streets. In 1999, ahead of schedule and under budget, the Clinton-Gore Administration met its commitment to fund an additional 100,000 police officers for our communities. As a part of the COPS Program, the President announced a distressed neighborhood grant program to increase community policing in high-crime and underserved neighborhoods. To help keep crime at record lows, in fall 1999, the President won funding for the first installment toward his goal to hire up to 50,000 more officers by 2005. This year, the Clinton-Gore budget includes over $1 billion to continue the successful COPS initiative to hire more officers, hire new community prosecutors, give police the tools and technology they need to fight crime, and to fund community-wide crime fighting efforts. (Justice Department, COPS Program, 5/12/99; National Economic Council, 11/18/99; FY 2001 Budget, p. 109)

Or did you mean a Republican federal plan?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 2010

Census Bureau Director Reports 2010 Census on Schedule, Under Budget

Census Moves into Quality Assurance Operations to Help Ensure Complete, Accurate Count

As census takers across the nation finish the 2010 Census door-to-door follow-up operation, the U.S. Census Bureau has entered the quality assurance phase, where select households around the country will be contacted by a census worker. Three major operations occur this summer that mark the peak of efforts to ensure data accuracy.

The 2010 Census is on schedule and significantly under budget but not fully completed. The Census Bureau systematically re-interviews 5 percent of all the households visited by census takers to confirm that all of the 565,000 census takers followed training protocols and produced accurate data.

5. The climate bill is a tax on everything!
The climate bill acts as a tax on energy, and everything produced or transported via energy, which means EVERYTHING! Everything we use and eat will be more expensive if the climate bill passes. Will it save the world? Not a chance! It's energy goals are looking in all the wrong places for energy, which is anything that can be labeled "renewable", even if that energy source is horribly expensive and not SUSTAINABLE at all.

We need an energy policy that actually delivers affordable, carbon free energy. We all cannot afford to dive Rolls Royce automobiles. If an energy source is so outlandishly expensive that it demands Rolls Royce style prices, then it is unusable and unsustainable no matter how poetic and beautiful it may sound to the ear. Wind and solar power sound so wholesome and melodic, but they cost 5 to 10 times as much safe thorium based nuclear power plants which actually work and take up just a tiny amount of space and resources. The renewable energy schemes take up giant amounts of land and eat up huge amounts of resources, and thus they are all horribly expensive and environmentally destructive. If we wish to reduce our budget deficit, we should bring all our troops home now, not just from Afghanistan and Iraq, but also from Japan, Korea, and Europe. America should be a polite and noble Republic, not a world dictator that gets into every fight and quarrel everywhere in the world. We should be protecting our own borders, not the borders of Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Korea.

Barack Obama is unwittingly accelerating the collapse of the American empire because he is driven by narcissism, not by any great new insight into how to make the world a better place. Obama is 90% the same as George W. Bush. We need real change, not more militarism that costs us a fortune and delivers nothing but dead bodies and budget deficits.
