1. The life he wants back was when he was pushing all his risks onto others.
The life of a CEO: take risks. Make sure others pay for your mistakes, while you get the profits.

His problem was that one of his risks came due and he can't pay.

He can have it, as far as I'm concerned.

Otherwise, I'd say he should be in a rubber raft scooping this crap up with a bucket. Whatever replacement gets his cushy office can't do any worse than he has.
