January 2010 Warmest On Record For Seattle
It wasn't sunbathing weather, but January was the warmest on record for the Seattle area, according to the National Weather Service.

The average temperature was 47 degrees, above the average of 45.8 degrees and the highest temperature since they began being recorded at the Seattle Federal Building in 1891. The normal average temperature for the month is 40.9 degrees. The second-warmest January on record was 2006, when temperatures averaged 46.6 degrees.

The coldest day last month was Jan. 27, when the low was 35. The average high temperature in January was 51.5 degrees and the warmest day was Jan. 19, when the mercury reached 60 degrees.

"We're in an El Niño, and it tends to be warmer and drier than normal," said forecaster Kirby Cook, of the National Weather Service. "This is a classic El Niño signature." He said the outlook for the rest of the winter is above-normal temperatures.

2. We were visiting Seattle in July it was 104 degrees! HVAC and fire alarm systems
needed resetting for upper limits because it had not gotten that hot in the past. The rain forest on the Olympic Peninsula was dry and brown. And of course there were no fires allowed at many campgrounds.

3. You obviously don't understand the difference between weather & climate
I believe that is the standard preferred response in this forum. Or is it, "Oh look, another weather report from hatrack"?

Oh wait. I remember now. The protocol for any weather report showing warm weather is proof positive of AGW doom. And any weather report citing colder weather or pleasant weather has no bearing on anything and is most likely sponsored by Big Oil.

Yeah Yeah Yeah .... that's the ticket.

5. The local news is freaking out because all of the ski resorts are done for.
Skiing season is shorter every year. It's having a devastating effect on the economy.
