What to make of this garbage? (Scientists Broke Law By Hiding Climate Change Data)

Now, I already know that the Daily Mail is a joke, but can any of you provide some quick and easy information debunking this? I suppose it could be enough that "a watchdog group" says that the IPCC broke the law -- as opposed to an actual criminal court -- but I'd like to have something more substantive as I want to turn a post about this in another forum on its head.

Edited for clarification.

5. nobody went to jail
When Bushco "cherry picked" intelligence to get support for the Iraq invasion.....I do not recall anyone being charged with anything or prosecuted or jailed.....and that resulted in war.

6. sadly, no
a few scientists lie and cheat on occasion like the rest of us, but denying climate change is like trying to catch a deer in your teeth at the base of a calving glacier. It's like saying banking doesn't happen because some people embezzle. It's stuff and nonsense.

please go take a look at the anomaly graphs at Cryosphere Today, particularly "the tale of the tape".

Look, they understand this stuff in great detail. There are short term negative feedback mechanisms such as the effect of the meltdown of the arctic (you can see that polar ice anomaly gyrate like a tree branch that has just dropped some snow, since 2007) but the trend is clear as day.

For a detailed discussion of the lower stratosphere phenomenon that has been masking the warming trend in recent years, see Jeff Masters' latest at Weather Underground. See also his posts on the Alaskan Dipole, a new weather phenomenon that has started in recent years due to climate change that is causing some of the new patterns we are seeing down here.

3. What cherry-picking?
That's a serious question.

4. I'll be keeping this kicked in the hopes that one of the serious experts here can help.
Hatrack, Phantom Power or one of the other masterminds probably have a handle on this. I've checked around a bit and come up empty so far.

7. They broke a rule in peer-review
They broke a rule in peer-review. If that information in a submitted article was valid then it should be allowed to be published, unless there is some other reason that follows the standard peer-review system. But unlike the what the right wing claims this is only a blip on the peer-review screen.
There are thousands of peer-review journals and bulletins in the world that have no problems and are unlike what has gone on here.
