1. Kerry's wife is an environmentalist. I'm sure she would rub him on it.
Feingold is also a very principled person, and the fact that he is from a state with a lot of hunting and fishing helps his environemental cause.

2. Kerry's record on the environment is very strong.
Any of the folks on your poll would beat the pants off Dubya, McCain, THE CAT BUTCHER, Bill Owen, Jeb, or any other Repuke they throw at us.

The Greens, the Socialists, and the Democrats are much more to be trusted on the environment than the Cheney-led All-Corporate Energy Policy party.

4. Gore, hands down. However, elections in the US are meaningless.
Gore wrote the book on the most critical issue facing humanity and that issue must remain in his conciousness. He had, among other things, an excellent if deliberately understated, nuclear policy. Were it possible for him to acceed to the Presidency in a restored democracy, we would have some hope for the future of our country.

To be perfectly honest though, I see no hope of that: We are a one party state, Mobutu/Ayotollah/Stalin-style.

The best hope is to emigrate if you can find a way to get out of the country. Then hopefully, you can come back with your resources, after the roof has caved in, and try to help to rebuild from among the ruins. This is my admittedly bleak assessment, but I am only trying to be honest about how I feel.

If an election is held, I will vote in it, and vote Democratic, but I have no illusions that my vote will either matter or be counted.
