2. The Atlantic hurricane season is officially from 1 June to 30 November. Unusual, not rare.

I have been through Alicia, Allison, Rita, and Ike. Been there done that got the new roof from the last storm.

3. End of the season can be the worst part.
Recall that back in the god-awful 2005 season, the most intense hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic basin, Wilma, formed in mid-October.

And just last year, there were Cat-4 hurricanes in Oct. and Nov., though neither lasted very long.

6. Unfortunately, it killed over a hundred people in El Salvadore.
I'm not aware of casualties in any other country.
