Rudd fears climate progress too slow

TONY EASTLEY: The Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, has started the second day of his visit to the United States, by catching up with former US president Bill Clinton.

Over breakfast in a New York cafe they discussed this week's UN climate change summit in the city. Mr Rudd says he fears progress isn't happening fast enough to in time to reach a new deal on cutting emissions by December.

SABRA LANE: The two men will share the world spotlight on Tuesday, when they open a plenary session at the institute bearing the former US president's name, the Clinton Global Initiative.
