Hybrid Car Sales Reach Record Highs in July

Cash for Clunkers is having an effect. The transportation industry needs an overhaul, and this is some positive news.



According to Hybrid Cars, sales of hybrids in July increased by 35% from both the previous month and the previous year. That bump gave hybrid cars a 3.55% share of the new car market, its largest share ever, accounting for 35,429 new hybrids sold. To compare, conventional car sales rose 15.4% for the month, but were still down 13% from the previous year.
