(RTTNews) - Thursday, German electronics company Siemens AG's (SI | charts | news | PowerRating) Power Generation Group announced the receipt of four orders from Spain to supply wind turbines and solar thermal power plant equipment. The total volume of the orders is more than EUR 170 million.

According to the company, ACS, the largest construction company in Spain, has ordered 50 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.3 megawatts, or MW, each to be erected in four wind farms in Andalucía. ACS has also ordered an industrial steam turbine for the solar-thermal power plant Extresol I, to be built in southern Spain.

The contract with ACS includes the supply, transport, and the installation of all 50 turbines, the company said, adding that the order includes a five-year service contract. Delivery of the wind turbines from Brande, Denmark, is scheduled to begin in February 2008.

Siemens will also supply steam turbines to Spanish energy company Iberdrola and Solel Solar Systems of Israel. These turbines are for two solar-thermal power plants in Spain.
