United Natural Foods Inaugurates One Megawatt PV System (CA)
http://www.solarbuzz.com/News/NewsNAPR889.htm

United Natural Foods yesterday celebrated its new solar photovoltaic system at its natural foods distribution facility in Rocklin, California.

The one megawatt system consists of more than 7,000 panels that cover a massive space - 175,000 square feet, or approximately four acres of rooftop - atop the company's Rocklin facility. It is believed to be the largest solar array of its kind in Placer County, California.

Attending the inauguration was Michael Funk, President & CEO of United Natural Foods Cindy Tuck, Undersecretary for Cal EPA Scott Yuill, City of Rocklin City Council Darrell Johnson, PG&E Service & Sales Manager Tom Hunton, President of American Capital Energy.

United Natural Foods is one of the country's largest distributors of natural and organic foods and is the primary supplier to the nation's largest natural and organic retailer, Whole Foods Market, Inc. With the development and installation managed by American Capital Energy, an end-to-end integrator of customized, commercial solar power systems, the system is expected to generate 1.5 million kilowatt hours per year from the system, enough to power more than 226 average homes.
