Also, there's a lot of thinning going on in the triangle defined by the Pole, Svalbard and Franz Josef Land. It's not much in terms of percentage. Coverage has only dropped from 100% to around 75 - 85% for most the triangle. However, the size of the area is quite substantial - I'm guessing about twice the size of Iceland, but that's just kind of a guesstimate.

2. Oh, and do you have any information about Greenland?
My understanding is that snow/ice typically melts from the bottom up, but the rigid nature of the ice cap would prevent us from seeing weakness until parts of the cap began to fail suddenly and catastrophically.

Do you know of any ground-penetrating radar or other technology to let us peek under the ice?

And can we get daily updates? :popcorn:

3. Let me scratch around and see what's out there - I suspect Greenland data will be harder to track .
As you can well imagine.

Mass balance estimates for the Greenland cap aren't hard to come by, but daily progress . . . hmmm.

We shall see.
