Percent of Capacity Power Output and Status of Every US Nuclear Reactor as of Today.


Someone who couldn't care less that solar power typically operates at 20% of capacity recently inquired about the status of the Oyster Creek reactor that saves lives in my state every day it operates by preventing the release of dangerous fossil fuel waste.

Anyone who is curious about the status of US reactors can look it up and need not ask me, however.

Such status is publicly available.

Three reactors are operating at less than 95%. One of them is Oyster Creek. Turkey Point 4 is either undergoing maintainence or is being refueled. It is producing zero power.

Oyster Creek is operating at 70% of capacity, meaning that it is operating at 423 MWe power.

Thus the capacity at Oyster Creek operating at 70% is slightly larger than the peak capacity of the entire solar PV capacity as recorded in the United States in 2005:
