Fed Reserve: what is it really? what should be done with it?
Seems to be a private layer between the Treasury and the 1. Obviously private banks 2. Ordinary citizens
----------------------
----------------------
What to do with it -

Could the Treasury do it all itself? Seems so to me.
I was just now disgusted by a TV (abc) pic of the huge, ornate, palatial boardroom of the Fed. -- HUGE.
What a waste of thousands of dollars.

1. Watch this video.. it will tell you everything you need to know....
it's a long video... 3 hour documentary, (view it in parts if needed) but well worth the time.

It goes back to the early days of "Jesus and money changers in the temple".. and brings it full-circle up to the creation of the Fed in 1913.

It uses real news clips, real news photos from 1913, and explains what happened when our country was sold out and handed over to the foreign bankers known as the "Federal Reserve".

6. There is enough money in the bank accounts of Apple
To buy Greece. It isn't too hard to fund a country whose economy is smaller than the economy of NYC

5. The federal reserve system is the central bank of the united states
It is an independent (like many central banks so that they aren't influenced politics) central bank that was created after the panic of 1907 showed the deficiencies in the "free banking theory". It is self funded, but must return all operating profits to the u.s. Treasury. It is the lender of last resort for both the government and the banks, making sure there is enough liquidity in the system.

Conspiracy theories are fun, but eventually you must return to reality. If you want to know more about the fed I suggest Wikipedia or just a general google search

8. The concept of the FOMC has functioned relatively well.
Unfortunately it's not the same as the "federal reserve system" which is anything but independent.

The regional fed boards are, by rule, governed by a majority of bankers. As in the case of the NY fed they have tremendous power to bail themselves out with, or simply gift themselves money backed with public equity as we saw in the case of the Maiden Lane. Unfortunately that's reality and not just some conspiracy theory.

The fed is long overdue for scrutiny and reform at the regional level.

9. The Fed is corrupted just like all levels of the federal government.
It is not independent. It is captured by the major private banks and their executives. It is merely a system used to distribute money for a nation. There are better systems out there. It is NOT the holy grail, it is not immune from corruption.

The system must change. Because the Fed is no longer concerned about its mission to support all levels of the economy and the nation. It is fixated on helping only bankers.
