2. He's Trying to Advertise Himself as an Honest Broker
so to speak. Cramer has a wide enough audience that his recommendation could move the stock price of a mid-size or small company (or so viewers might suspect). He could personally profit by buying the stock himself before the announcement. That's the impression he's trying to counter.

Nothing wrong with that, as long as he's on the level.
