http://www.marketwatch.com/

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- HP /quotes/comstock/13*!hpq/quotes/nls/hpq (HPQ 46.01, -0.93, -1.98%) said Tuesday that it plans to spend a $1 billion to automate its commercial data centers. As a result the company plans to eliminate about 9,000 jobs over a multiyear period. Once completed, this transformation is expected to generate annualized gross savings of approximately $1 billion and net savings after reinvestment in a range between $500 million and $700 million, the company said.

5. Interesting. They just opened a call center here in AR.
Not good news AT ALL.

They received all sorts of tax breaks and giveaways. I can't say I am all that surprised.

9000 jobs is quite a bit.
We need them to be ADDING 9000 jobs. Fuckers.

6. On Yahoo! there are lots of people blaming Obama. ::sigh::
I am not a big Obama fan by any measure but blaming him for this just reeks of stupidity.
