I suppose you could say that property values and stocks are assets, and the drop in value may constitutes having lost trillions of dollars, but all that was just "bubble money" anyway, as everyone knows. A few people timed it right and made real money, the rest of us are just about where we were, maybe worse for wear.

If I were looking for something to get pissed off about, it wouldn't be about the pony I didn't get.
