Medical providers offer Obama administration $2 trillion in health care savings
Who says a government plan option won't save money. Just TALKING ABOUT IT is already producing savings!!LOL.

Insurance industry is running scared.. Billions in profits at risk.

http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=17927

"In a rare move before the administration has unveiled all the details of its proposal, the industry groups are trying to strike a deal now with Obama officials to help get coverage for all Americans in the hopes they can stave off legislation that would restrict their profitability in future years."

Yeah, restrict profitability due to competition from a Government run option.

I HAVE A BETTER IDEA. LET'S HAVE A ONE-PAYER SYSTEM AND REMOVE ALL THE %#$@-ING PROFITS FROM HEALTH CARE INSURANCE. That would be the most efficient system. Let's put those profits and excess G&A expenses to work paying for professsional services and medicines. HOw's THAT for an idea who's time has come?

2. I am on your side ..but article is old ..Sunday May 10, 2009...

This was a red herring. It was the insurance companies saying we will not raise your premiums as much as we were going to.

3. Well, Blue Cross jacked up my premium again this year.
I'm paying $710/mo, just for myself.

Next year, I turn 65, and they can kiss my bony butt. They have zero chance of selling me a Medicare supplement. When they try, I'll explain it to them very clearly.

I have never met my deductible on that insurance in the 25 years I've had it. Not once. I take one prescription...a low dosage of lisinopril for marginal blood pressure.

Screw 'em. I have to keep it in force for this last year, I suppose, but I wish I had the confidence to cancel it altogether. At 64, though, I'm not confident enough to do so.

5. If they are *willing* to give this promise
The cynic in me is wondering exactly how MUCH they feel they will gain by tossing us a few coins?

Anything less than universal healthCARE is just tossing the consumers to the wolves. F*CK any of these mandatory insurance plans.

8. I agree with everybody here. These promises are for suckers. that's what they expect us to be.
But they will KILL the PUblics Option (Let alone, one payer plan) unless every one of us calls and emails our Senators and Represeentatives to tell them WE WANT A FUCKING GOVERNMENT OPTION (or a single payer - but I'm worried we won't even get the Public Option) AND TELL THEM THEY BETTER FIGHT FOR IT.

Here is the Congress web-site. Just enter your zip code and it will pop up with your Senators and Representative

http://www.congress.org/congressorg/officials/congress/?lvl=C

This is the White HOuse contact page url, to tell Obama he MUST fight for the Public Option (at least!):

www.whitehouse.gov/contact

Believe me, if we do not call and email them it WILL NOT HAPPEN. The insurance industry and big-pharma are swamping the Hill with Lobbyists (this is in addition to the lobbyists who are REpublican Senators and Representatives).

If we don't call and email and let them know we want them to fight for it, it will not happen.

6. What a sick joke. 2T$ over 10 years!? And, only a promise...
..and nothing about why it will go down.
..and only off some projected increases.

WE CAN'T AFFORD WHAT THEY ARE TAKING NOW!

We CAN'T afford any new increases. SORRY!

How about we just put your unnecessary buttocks out of business.

7. We've heard this all before - and nothing changed except...
...it got worse and MORE expensive. That's why we're where we are now.
