2. From the way some people talked it was only the Big Three..
with their gas guzzling, polluting SUV & luxury liners. Nobody is buying anything unless they actually need a car or truck. Its world wide folks and thats the effect of the economic boondoggle were in no money, no credit, no sale economy.

11. Sales have crashed through the bottom worldwide
Cars have always been a luxury in other parts of the world where mass transit has been built and maintained. When money gets tight, that's the first place sales are going to fizzle out.

People here are fixing them as long as they can, hoping to get a few more years out of them before they have to go back into debt for a new one.

7. The new strategy for weaning us off oil
Create such an economic disaster that no one can afford to buy a car, afford the registration, license, insurance, and maintenance--or qualify for a loan.

So what if oil prices decrease?

It's cheaper to ride a bike, take the bus, or join/create caresharing

12. The biggest Chevy dealership in our state...
...is using the Walgreen's parking lot and also the parking lot from sporting good's store--to keep their extra cars.

Both lots are overflowing with cars and the dealership is stuffed to the gills.

I'm in Iowa, a state that has escaped much of the big housing crash, and has not been as affected
by the recession as some other states. To see this spill over of cars is a bit shocking.
