Will We Follow Bush to Wal-Mart America?
http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=17467

"Let's take a look at the concrete numbers. Since Bush took office, the economy has shed more than 2 million jobs. Poverty has increased two years in a row, the first time that has happened in at least a decade. Twenty-five major American cities saw a 19 percent increase in demand for emergency food for the hungry. Health care costs are skyrocketing, with a new study showing more and more employers forcing workers to pick up the tab. In other words, for millions of Americans, the answer is a flat out no, we are not better off."

1. No. We won't. Bush

and his crowd will be making a mint on WalMart stock. You and I will be going broke tring to support a family on a WalMart paycheck. So there will really be two "WalMart Americas".

3. "to be fair"? Since when is such misinformation "fair"?
Here ... they say a picture is worth a thousand words. The numbers are pretty clear, and available to anyone.

4. People like Wal-Mart
It's all about spin. Wal-Mart is cheap and convenient. Wal-Mart is a crappy place to work and has destroyed the small-town business center while boosting foreign manufacturing.

Unemployment is going down, millions of new jobs created, stock market is up, real estate is hot, GDP is way up, orders up. Investors Business Daily says the economy is poised for a big leap. Interest rates are low. Americans are safer than ever. You have more of your money.

Yet millions are unemployed, the quality of new jobs is suspect, the stock market doesn't help many of us and few have recovered anywhere near their losses, real estate is unaffordable and health care is a hugh expense that many can't afford. Not to mention the deficit, debt, and the fact that our "prosperity" is coming from the printing press.

Which America will we hear more about over the next ten months? That's what the GWB $200,000,000 war chest is for.

Unless the Americans who are not better off than they were four years ago get off their asses and vote, then we will have at least four more years of this regime.

Since fewer citizens bother to vote I am not especially hopeful.
