SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Robert Parkinson, the chairman and chief executive of Baxter International Inc., told a Congressional committee Tuesday its blood thinner heparin appears to have been deliberately contaminated, according to media reports. Baxter recently recalled the blood thinner after it found batches made at a Chinese plant were contaminated with a substance similar to the drug's active ingredient that has been linked to at least 81 deaths. The Food and Drug Administration recently linked the contaminant to the adverse reactions, and issued a warning letter to the Chinese plant that made the drug's active ingredient.

11. Guess he forgot to do the drug quality control tests.
He is concerned over his large bonus and retirement but not lives. Let them go live in China not off our backs and at our expense. He should go to prison.

4. Of course it was deliberate (by the chinese manufacturer)

A common scam at many of these shifty companies is to substitute ingredients
with cheaper substances that mimic them. This is what happened with the
contaminated pet food, baby formulas, as well as other food and drug products.

There should be an all out ban on food, drugs and toys from China until this
is resolved. OR just ban products from China altogether (that'll boost our
economy).

5. China is not our friend

At least not their leadership. It is their goal to destroy us with our capitalism (greed). They now seem to enjoy it but only the few. It's an oligarchy. We are becoming the same.

They put lead in our toys to get rid of it and contaminate our drugs. Why would we buy their products? Oh..yes we borrow from them. Thank you every President since Nixon.

I believe the churches are bringing in spies into our country (spies to spy on our technology, society, weapons, etc.) as "religious workers". I complained about to my Republican Representative in the state government. He never got back to me. Easier that way isn't it? They'd rather spy on citizens and their political enemies.

7. "Made in China"
should be considered a warning label.

At least we'll get some economic activity going, rebuilding the industries that we gave away, since we'll no longer be able to afford foreign products soon enough.

9. I make a point of going thru my shopping cart at checkout lines
and "very regretfully" set aside the Made in china items,
with a few comments about not being able to trust the contents or ingredients or whatever.
( fun to do at Wal-Mart)
Do this with a straight face, a sincere manner, and all the people in line behind me get real concerned looks on their faces.

Consumer consciousness, one store at a time.

What if we all did this?
