You probably shouldn't look here...
I know the MSM has us preoccupied with lapel jewelry, Rev. Wright, and the like, but there are REAL hurdles ahead of us.
We need to focus on the issues and consider the terrible reality that 7-years of Repuke rule have had on the middle class.
To gauge the impact on your community, open this link, enter your zip code (middle of the screen)
Zoom in or zoom out, but be sure to give it a minute to load.
Then consider the impact that the Boosh economy, the Iraq war, and corporate greed are having on your community.
www.realquest.com
My zip code has 63 bank owned foreclosures and 436 auctions scheduled.
To those who have been saving for rainy day...an economic shit storm is coming.
Anyone who's thinking of not supporting the Democratic candidate, whomever it may be, should carefully consider the devastating consequences of a 3rd boosh term.

1. It was taking too long to load -
I'm never sure if it's my computer or not, but I got out.

Regarding your area -- that's an amazing number of foreclosures and auctions! My God!

And don't worry, I'm happily supporting the Dem nominee, regardless of who it is. I

6. Took quite a while to load in my area as well due to the sheer volume of foreclosures.
Try again, it's worth a look.

3. Fascinating....
Thanks for this.

A place I used to live, a very elegant condominium called Watergate at Landmark (yes, built by the same guy who built THAT Watergate in DC - this one is in Northern Virginia), has a bunch of apartments in foreclosure. That's just unheard of in that place, which is, as you might guess, very upscale, very pricey.

What a shock.

We're so screwed.

4. Any block that has a couple of foreclosures or REO (bank owned homes)
becomes verify difficult to loan money in.
I work in the industry and can say that if there are a couple of distressed properties on your block, your whole neighborhood can be identified as a declining market.
This is a vicious cycle as it further limits Loan To Values (% of a value that a lender will lend).
LTV limitations reduce marketability as well as the ability of current homeowners to leverage their equity to obtain cash to do home repairs/improvements, consolidate debts, pay for college expenses, and even stay financially afloat.
If you have a neighbor who loses their home to foreclosure, get together with your neighbors and arrange to keep the lawn mowed, the trim painted, and the property secured, else risk the whole neighborhood becoming distressed.

5. 55 auctions, 7 bank owned
but nearly all are outside my immediate area, an area that is still selling well thanks to its convenience.

7. I'm in Tahoe... where the housing bubble was ridiculous
The city started redevelopment back in 99 or 2000, and the minute they turned the first shovel, the prices went sky high

94 Pre-forclosures
46 auctions
33 bank owned

I will keep checking this site...but it isn't rocket science to see all the homes that are for sale too around here that haven't moved in a year or more...

I'm a renter, and my landlady is thinking of selling this house because they can't afford two mortgages...though if she puts it on the market, she knows it won't move for some time...
Honestly, I told her that she should keep me in this house as long as she can. Not only would she be getting money for rent, but if the shit hits the fan, she's got someone watching this property too!

8. Wow - my zip code has 434 preforclosures, 39 auctions, and 27 bank owned.

I've been looking to buy, but I'm probably gonna wait 6 months to two years (or 2-5 years if McSame gets elected).

That's amazing.

Also, (on edit), I was thinking of moving into this neighborhood, which is very nice. I guess now might be the time to buy - LOL:

to see one neighborhood like that. Gas and food prices are going to break many people who commute.

12. Not quite as bad in the Seattle area
60 auctions, 16 bank-owned. Not crowing--I know that what happens elsewhere will affect us eventually.

16. We live in a small affluent town north of Boston(we're on the other
side of the tracks).
49 foreclosures, 12 auctions.
This scares the devil out of me.

I find it sad and shocking. How dare the politico's say the economy is going through just a rough spot. It is in free fall.

17. 41 preforeclosures, 21 auctions
Doesn't seem egregiously bad, though it is a fairly small town (maybe around 40,000?).

18. Wow, just looked up the depressed town in northern Ohio
where I was born, my grandparents old neighborhood along Lake Erie. Overall in this one zip code alone there are 470+ bank owned homes and auctions. Really sad. These neighborhoods were once the cream of the crop, 1920s and 30s bungalows, dutch colonials, etc. I can't even imagine what the neighborhoods look like now.

22. Bet we grew up close by:
My childhood zip says 112 Bank owned, 142 auctions, and 112 Pre-Foreclosures.

Solidly Middle/Working Class back then; few students could afford to be "flower children."

20. You bet!
I work in the industry and am dismayed that most people don't know how ugly this is getting.
It's easy to spot the neighborhoods with dozens of for sale signs, but this add some real perspective.

21. Whoah
Apparently the development where I'm living now is a foreclosure hotspot... 10 properties in preforeclosure, auction, or REO status.
