Goldstein's Comrade Part 2
Greetings from the front and wondering at your rear. Odd way to start? What if we are finishing? Despite the view of the world, there continues a reluctance to maintain prospective of the past. Is that more to your liking? Prospective will be changed as time and necessity move forward. That is what we are taught. That is what we believe. That is what we claim as truth.
A trillion. Two trillion. A multiple of trillions. Dollars, Euros,or Yen; pick one or all for that matter. ETFs, mutual funds,or stocks; do the same. Pension funds, hedge funds,or sovereign wealth funds; again do the same. Can you control all this at one time? Not likely. Can you influence the direction they will take? Yes, you can. Are the markets being manipulated? Would you if you could make a profit? Why are we then surprised at the current state?
We require oil to continue the consumption economy that was manipulated into existence in the seventies. It is not a secret. We go to war to control access or deny access. That's not a secret either. All civilizations peak, then decline. As the value of currency and the influence it holds diminishes what is to be expected is manipulation of the markets. The tide that rises all boats so to speak. The policy instituted by the national party is the reliance on a war economy. The influence of those in power will not seek peace if there is no profit. This is the steady state of the party.
Manipulation is the power to control those who hold the belief they have no power. Are you fearful of a recession? Worried your pension will not be there when you retire? Need health care? Has you home declined in value? Will you be jobless and homeless and without health care? Has the party done it's job? Has the media done their's?
One in one hundred citizens are in some form of custody. Immunity from treason is the topic of the congress. The possibility a cyber attack turned the lights out in Florida. Millions of dollars are accumulated by hope and experience and honor to the benefit of hope and experience and honor. The party is here for your vote.
All Goldstein asks for is one candidate willing to end the electoral college. Willing to make democracy the first task of their agenda. Is that too much to ask?

1. Probability.
Which falls after probabilism, the doctrine introduced by the ancient Skeptics declaring certainty is impossible, so probability will have to do and probity meaning uprightness or integrity. Good citizen there's quite a bit of skeptic in Goldstein's view and an equal measure of uprightness present in our questioning of just where this confederation of states is headed. True good citizen, this is a completely biased view, but Goldstein does not recommend any plan lightly. It is with a degree of Machiavellian attitude we approach the likes of the inner party and their functionaries. The party we participate in will continue to control its' shared standing with the party of the right wing. The inner party holds true power. The center. Very few have used this political ploy of centrism to good effect without being suspect for good reason. As in when the shoe fits.
It is not about compromise or inclusion. If you are excluded you will want inclusion. You will demand inclusion. If you feel threatened, you will seek compromise. The old adage of the beatings will continue until moral improves still holds true more often than not. The party is here for your protection. Accept it. Embrace it. Confess it. The party will do no less then the Inquisition would to gain their planned outcomes. How can we its' faithful followers do less?
The party is not a single headed viper. To cut off its' many heads, a lifetime wouldn't be sufficient. Any attempt to organize violence against the party would bring all the forces the party can muster. The party's preference is for political action within their control to settle disputes. That is the cornerstone they hold up as truth. Bipartisan solutions. The newest version being preemptive pardons for impeachable offenses. While we watch and argue the finer points of hope, experience and honor. While markets dissolve in orderly fashion. While the class warfare rages against the many for the benefit of the few. The party moves on.
The core of power is held in the fluidity of power testing in the inner party. It is the inner party we do not see that shifts resources and access among its' members. They have crafted laws to contain the power of the masses to the benefit of the inner party and the party functionaries. These are our choices: hope, experience or honor. Choose wisely.

2. All quiet on the front.
Great news is hard to come by when the media refuses to report anything not allied with the party's intentions. Good news is always at hand though. The candidates are all expected to continue their banter in their approach to world leadership or at the very least a ring side seat at the collapse of the economy.
Phones ringing in the great white bunker at some ungodly hour. Comrades, we suspect that the voice mail will pick up and the caller hears the following message: Sorry we missed your call. Please leave your name and number or call our customer help desk at 1-800- whatever. Please don't call the congress as they are snuggled up to some lobbyist some where and don't wish to be disturbed. Trying to find a good school for their children and a six figure job for their spouse and/or companion is a full time occupation. Prostitution is a very demanding profession as you may well know. The great white bunker is of course empty this time of night with the exception of the cleaning staff and the secret service, neither of which care what you want because it's above their pay grade. If this is about the national debt, well sonny jim your just out of luck according to the bankruptcy lawyers so get in line. If it's about your pension little miss school teacher, social security, medicare, medicaid,or health care; you haven't a clue so hang up and go back to bed. If your are a lobbyist, you know all donations now go through the leadership committees of the party. Earmarks are listed in the congressional record under other stuff you really don't need to know about. So pay your dues to the think tank consultants as they have all that information because they wrote it. This is not a free service. Buying and selling votes cost big money. All fees, tariffs, and taxes collected are the property of the American people with the exception of what all fees, tariffs and taxes we deem necessary for the war on what ever we are at war with/ at /or might consider at some point in the future.
Yes, your check is in the mail. Now hang up the phone as it is interfering with the calls being classified as possible terrorist activity. Thank you and have a nice day.

3. Reflation.
A new word for you good citizen. The policy employed to lower your standard of living while adding to the plus columns of the corporate spread sheets. As if by mere change of policy or closer to potent magical tinkering, the Fed will do what it swears it can't do, control inflation and stimulate the economy out of recession simultaneously. Never mind the net effect on the dollar according to the Ben in the road. The dollar needs to go lower if its' to met up with the peso. That being Goldstein's take on the direction of the greenback. The Maple Leafs' version of the dollar will come down as the North American Economic block is solidified by a very painful recession. They are our trading partner of record as in NAFTA and we are their's. So why so glum comrades?
Readjustment in times of economic downturns are not uncommon or unexpected. If you've been on the planet long enough, you have lived through at least one. The successfully reconditioning to the new and improved less is more service economy was planned by the friends of the party. Both sides sat at that table gorging themselves at your expense. Just where this adjustment will take us remains open to speculation. Some contend the end times are at hand, so stock pile anything non perishable yet useful before the Mad Max times come to town. If they are not already here. The quasi survivalist always short the market and have good reason to. Others have a less militant viewpoint, eliminate your debt and put your house in order and learn the virtues of your grandparents' miserly ways. Some believe all will be set right come the glorious victory of the Left of the party over the despised right wing of the party. Both are a bit over the top, but not without a modicum of respect to their vision of the future.
May we all live in interesting times. Or as Confucius' banker said, may your interest be your reward you penny pinching old fart.

4. Future planning.
Comrades it has come to our attention their is a serious problem of employment and a shortage of jobs to go around. There for, as a public service, we recommend the following course: get a life coach. Better yet become a life coach. There is a obvious shortage and a growing demand given current and future circumstances. We can all use a little help from time to time. Someone reassuring. A sounding board. A confidant. How hard can it be?
You being alive is one requirement that we can not pass over, so please no dead people applying to muck up the system. Now paper work must be kept to a minimum as well as meetings, conferences, working papers, peer reviews, degrees, bylaws, pass words, dress codes, attendance taking, application more then half a page in big print, no DNA testing, no medical exams, no insurances, no bank loans unless cosigned,no government regulation, tax optional, income possible and any formalized scheduling will be deemed as redundant. What we expect here is a change. To what or from what is not as important as to the need for change. After all comrades we all have had the experience of birth and that's good enough to get in the game. Making the most of change is not easy. Comprehending change is also a daunting task. Explaining change is best left to professionals. Which leaves us, good citizens in dire need of a life coach! Why it requires life coach positions on a universal scale. After all, all that WWJD made millions in wrist bands alone. Think mass marketing. Think of the chatter and envy you will garner with the title: Life Coach. You may include family in your client list. Distant family in powerful positions and ancestors of some import on your prospectus. If we need another boom to save us from ruination, why not a life coach IPO. Start forming your LLP's now or go indie if you can stand the competition. Yes, comrades just do it! Take the plunge! Pull yourself and someone else up by the boot straps. Inspire and inform. Consul and console. All for profit. Or in the absence of profit, a tidy write off for expenses. Lawyers need not apply!
Sounds good does it not? Yes, once again Goldstein has come to your aid America. Please sent no money. Goldstein's reward is knowing you are all part of the plan. Which is reward enough.

5. The home front.
Greetings, Good citizens. The news of the war in east asia is there is no news. The lack of which must mean all is well and if it were not, you would be informed into a state of udder stultifying remorse over the loss of life. It is for this very purpose the Ministry of Peace has paid such huge sums of cash to the Babylonians. No cash, no peace. Lots of cash, pretty darn peaceful for a country at war with itself. The ethnic cleansing being over and the arming almost completed, old scores still remain to be settled. It just the way things are done.
So how goes it here? Have the good fellas from the great white bunker made your life safer? Has the congress restored your liberties? Is the great engine of the global economy slowing to a stand still? Are you beside yourself with the prospect of a check from your Ministry of Numerical Computation?
What you need comrade is faith. Yes, faith. No not religion. Not some mystical or supernatural faith. Plain everyday faith. The faith you have in knowing you live among people who prefer law to disorder. People who consider the welfare of their family above all else. A dynamic people of great ability and compassion that consider challenge made to order. People who despite differences to many to describe consider themselves good citizens first. Comrades there are more of us who will take up arms to defend your right to be wrong then the few who are willing to corrupt this nation for the sake of greed. Hopefully it will never come to that.
Make no mistake, hard times are coming. Be prudent. Keep the faith. For those who lived through the great depression had faith better days were coming. Remember too, the Klan was at its' peak, corruption in the markets was rampant, communism replaced the church in the east, fascism came close to ruling the old world, not everyone had the vote, the flu killed more people then the first world war, farming was the major industry of the nation, we were not an industrialized nation, and there was no television, few phones, little medical insurance, no welfare, no food stamps, no unemployment payments, and on and on. No one knows how bad it will get. It will not be the same as the the twenties or thirties. The party can't afford it. Do you really think your family will have nothing to eat and they will still be in power? You don't need a poll to see which way the wind blows on that score.

6. Please place your bets.
An up tick in the market based on the declaration the MNC will run the presses at full capacity to fill the banks' empty coffers. Really. Are you telling the rest of the world, Mr. Ben-da-buck, that the banking system of this nation can't cover their depositors claims? That the entire financial system is stuck somewhere between reverse and neutral? That if or rather when the margin calls are made, the street is short hard cash? Are you sure that's the message the party wants to send right now? Or is it just the good fellas in the great white bunker? Comrades did we just not hear the all clear signal from the same party functionaries? All is well, the economy is sound, the underlining principles are fine and the all time classic, dad still spends more money on hookers then mom does on hair spray, so it's all good. Texas' humor, please forgive Goldstein's recounting a favorite camp fire tale. Or was it skull and bones? Either way, the chickens are coming home to roost.
It was not that long ago, millions were real money. Then billions became the thing to have. Now a trillion is tossed around like a tennis ball to the family dog. Well, if the Ministry of Numerical Computation needs to borrow in order to count what it will lend by printing what it does not have on hand, then we have finally reached parity with our debt. In other words, our currency's not worth the paper its' printed on. Congratulations are in order. The party has managed to break the bank. By the way guess who insures the bank?
So what to do? An other perplexing problem for the party? Printing money is out. Lowering interest rates is useless. The bail out was spend on least weeks' groceries. The bond market is looking grim. The stock market is manic for the moment. Selling the national parks is not a very good bet. Bingo! It must be tax cutting time again! Thank your lucky stars comrades! Either you take this tax cut or you don't get to eat any nice cake. You never say no to cake, now do you?
Oh, you want to try something new. A new currency? A new tax structure? A democratically elected chief executive? Popular vote and no electoral college? Pretty much a radical aren't we? Just where is all this coming from? You haven't been taking with your old hippie grandparents have you? Worse! GOLDSTEIN, sweet jesus protect us!

7. Timber!
That last sound you did not hear was the floor falling away from what was left of the hedge fund community. You see comrades no one was there to actually hear the event. Most if not all the party functionaries left there positions a year ago. Profits secured in european currency accounts held on paper at least, somewhere above the warm waters of the Caribbean. The wealthy pay for advice as well as the comforts the party has come to cherish. Good citizens on the other hand, have to go on the luck of possibilities and third hand news.
Investment in good times is easy. Follow the herd and cost averaging work to gain par with the median return on investment. What if you wanted thrice par? Say a twenty percent return. Well if you knew which way a sector or class of investment was headed, you could bet with the house, so to speak. It's like knowing when that jack is going to show up and in whose hand. In this game you are betting with the inside deal. Same with hedge funds. They are market makers and market movers.
So what the of their losses? Just what have they lost? Actually it is whose money have they squandered that concerns us. Pension funds. City, state, county, union, association, MUTUAL FUNDs, are all at risk. Most bought in on the mid deal chasing profits. Smart, rather party ownership, money was getting up from the table having made their's, when the late comer's placed their bets.
The family ownership of the hedge funds be it investment houses or deregulated banks' subsidiaries own debt. Notes on margin and a lot of what ifs. Do you think it odd the second in command at the great white bunker has held bonds for most of his term? Preservation of capital. And just what is rising in yield? We can all rest better knowing the few are well off. The party is here for your investments.

21. Doom.
Good citizens, we are now in the position to confirm that the official depression is underway! All praises to the party and glory to the party leadership! How do we know this? The Economist has as its' cover : the great American slowdown...and what it means for the world economy. Doom. As the right wing begins its' anti everything campaign, you did see that "debate" didn't you; the lusting after super delegates being the "news" story of defeatism and disaffection of the left wing of the party. Who in their right or left mind would want the job vacated by the current chief engineer of the Titanic? We suspect that having looked over the fence that experience is willing to loose all self respect in order to promote hope. There is a deal. There is always a deal, someone knows a cousin who's uncle talked to a waiter that heard...Comrades this is the party after all. So why doom? You good citizens are not doing your part. You are economizing. Exactly the wrong thing to do. Counter to all the party has done for you, your selfish need to care for your family is the obstacle to growth. All this self preservation nonsense. Has the lesson of Katrina faded from memory? Or the Tsunami? What will it take? Global warming perhaps? Riots in Tibet? Does the Pope have to come to town? The party has a plan to correct your wanton ways. Once again profits must be maximized which means your economic status must be minimized. So, in comes the old hidden hand, the guiding force, the masters of all they survey, and the transfer of private corporate debt is now yours. As an added benefit prices on everything will rise twofold the rate of discount given the debased financial industry. More good news, good citizen your net worth is in decline in proportion to the cost of a barrel of oil. Not motor oil, cooking oil. The Robed Ones only have one thing to sell us. They do not produce cooking oil. And when you fill your gas tank with cooking oil who goes hungry? And just how will several billion of the worlds poor react as you stop shopping for ice chippers for your green apple martinis?
There is the possibility of avoiding certain doom. Goldstein has a plan.

8. Time out.
Just what the party and its' minions need at the present moment. Like the wailing child told he or she will not get candy until the shopping is finished in the grocery store, the party media insists the town drunk is OK to continue to drive. Yes, comrades, Bear-Sterns is huge and loaded with interlocking loans, stocks, bonds, and complex financial instruments of international importance. Can it fail? It did. Did the rest of the banking system go belly up? No. Good citizen how can this be? You have at some point in your life played monopoly with the family, you do know what a get out of jail free card is for. What you did not expect was to see it played by a major bank in "real" life now did you? Did any one ever cheat when you played? Did you give a few hundred to your whinny little brother, who is still sulking about the candy thing at the grocery store? Admit it, you put him up to it when no one was watching didn't you? Well, the FED and friends did the same thing for the banking industry. It is after all a family owned and operated business. Just like home comrades, there are rules, then there are rules as the saying goes. Now the FED is frantically shoveling a few billion in the direction of the least deserving of help under the premises the wailing must stop. The correct thing to do would be a time out according to the child rearing doctrine of the new age. We wouldn't want to damage the psyche of the poor child, would we? The neighbors might think the family dysfunctional. No more invites to dinner and such would permanently scar the entire family for god-sakes!
Goldstein has been on the planet so long as to have seen the discovery of dirt. Yes, it is true. Goldstein is a few years younger than dirt itself. Stop the snickering. Now in olden days comrades, the punishment of a transgression was proportional to correct the misdeed. Actually, one look from either parent was enough to end even the thought of wailing about candy. One does not tempt fate when oversight is present. Not so today. Banks being what they are. The party and FED being so "supportive" and attuned to the delicateness of the poor dears'. All the corrupting influence and tawdriness of the god-forsaken dysfunctional family down the other side of the tracks not withstanding.
Do I smell pie? You don't think someone is baking pie do you? No. Not a chance. I swear I smell pie.

9. Help less middle class folks and friends..
SPEND! BUY! SPEND! BUY! Go on a major shopping spree. Do it now! Comrades, the american economic model is based on the consumers' spending money. You are a true blue American are you not? Stop investing in the stock market and buy a shiny new car. SPEND money now. Buy the ------- you've always wanted. You deserve it. (Sorry no house loans. A little to iffy.) Everything is here for the taking. The time is now. Confuse the whole economic model leaning toward collapse. You can save it. Look the recession in the eye and laugh. SPEND. BUY. It may be your last chance. Debt will not matter when the dollar completely collapses. It will be traded for something other then worthless greenbacks anyway. So spend them now. Price inflation will soon take to new heights. Interest rates for home loans are headed higher as values go lower. A gallon of $4 gas is nothing. You will remember $4 a gallon with fond memories come 2010. Spend the money now. Buy your lover something very expensive and absolutely frivolous. Enjoy some great sex. Spend it all. There are no rainy days ahead. SPEND. BUY.
This is Goldstein's solution. You do believe that don't you? Goldstein wants you to be good citizens. The party would never use revolutionaries to carry their message would they? Recall the days after 911. Go to the malls and spend money. No new attacks happened. The authorities have it all under control. The surge worked. The party is here for your protection. Elections are being held. The planned bail out and restructuring is working as well.
Comrades, we expect the banks to be nationalized shortly. It is for their own good and to protect your savings and investments. You do want that? The end of fear right? The guarantee of safety you have come to depend on is here at your demand. You will demand it won't you? New debit cards will replace all currency transactions. Credits will be the new currency.

10. Post hoc.
As ad hoc is on the fly, post hoc is after the dirty deed, indeed. How the do we value the recent dissolvement of a very large Bear, et tu Sterns? Not with any ease, despite the lubricant being applied in passionate doses by the Fed. What we just witnessed comrades was the the exact opposite of market forces at work. The empire of capitalism has a ruthless creed, produce profit or perish. Create wealth on the buy and sell, both a lender and borrower be. As a deregulated citizen with the blessing of a supreme court holy writ, stealing in the name of profit is not a crime unless prosecuted. How can such an experienced organization trip over its' own two feet while sitting squarely on its' assets? Pun intended. It was the smell of pie baking that gave it all away. Comrades, we will eat cake if offered, but we love pie. So to with the high rollers of wall street and their banker friends at the country club. One can not get a slice of pie without the filling slopping out sideways. It is a fundamental law of finance. All that goody must be accounted for. If you bet there is no ooze, betting on unsound fundamentals, someone will remove you from the table. Such is the case here. Like sharks attraction to chum, contempt of the fundamental brought the Bear down. The fork of billions in Fed super cash was the signal they were done.
So what now for the other friends of the FED? Does it begin with an "L" or are we to look else where? And just what does this portend? The ides of March and all? Me thinks more pie is what we'll be havin'.
Are you safe? No. Will experience ride to the rescue. Maybe. Will hope met the challenge? Possibly. Can honor do it justice? Et tu, honor? the dying words of a good citizen to his life long friend. The sacrificial Bear was the first of many offerings comrades. There is more pie to be had.

11. Quasi.
Can one call the ministry of wealth a quasi lender or quasi investor or quasi trader? It seems all are with in reason. While the FED is more like a rich uncle, slightly loopy but very generous. The MoW is neither in possession of lendables, it may offer debt and a promise to pay. The MoW is willing to have a sit down with interested parties for the sake of cooperation. Which in general terms defines who can get what with minimal red tape, do not under estimate the lack of red tape being with held comrades. An the next best thing to the MoW are none other than freddie mac and friends so willing to help with all your home buying needs. All with that kind glare from the MoW our banking families have come to adore.
As it now stands, the ubber capitalist conglomerate most closely associated with the ministry of magic, the one that disappeared so many speakers of foreign languages, will acquire a dead bear as the door prize. Cocktails will be served followed by a banquet of the principals. All very neat and tidy.
The next thing you know, a rate cut, an orgasm, then rapid deflation. Oil heads down. Gold goes low. Dollars are bare naked. Money and sex like lumber jacks in ladies' kickers, if you hadn't seen it, you still would not believe it. Thankfully, the band from the Titanic played your favorite lullaby. All sleepy eyed are we? Reassured? Get a good nights rest. The passing icebergs are all addressed to whom it may concern. You are safe. The party will refund your passage should your needs not be met. This is the dream cruise of a bankers' lifetime. Pennies on the dollar and all the bad debt held by the FED. And not a dry eye in the gallery. Comrades weep no more. Save you energy for the long night of rowing that lies ahead. If we are very quiet, they may not notice the missing lifeboat.

12. Respite.
So much for the christian nation's long weekend. Hubris is to lowly a description at the party's contempt. The spin control: passport checking, defaming, re-framing, bigotry is a mis-understanding, as Tibet burns, the floods cometh, gold-bugs swooning, all that's missing is is the rerun of the children of the dammed. Mind control, thought control, information control, message control, riot control, lack of flood control, fly paper or margin calls, and another reason not to trust what you think you thought. Can ham come unsliced? It's all about value added myopia.
Well it is spring break after all. Let the hedonism consume itself with earthly delights. Let markets rest. Counting can wait. Accounting, according to the party is so passe. As is their interests in worrisome times. The party is on a slow roll. Collecting the alms from the poor of spirit. Laying down fronds of billions for the money changers. Casting out the credit less for faults so understandably human in nature. Greed and envy. Cesare is paying out, as the base metal of coins weights down all with concern to their pocket books. And what shall we preach to the party? What shall be the message?
We have from birth heard their's. Go forth and prosper. Buy and hold. You can be anything you want to be. The party is here for your protection.
Comrades, the party reminds you do not trespass, don't be led into temptation, forgive those who do you injustice and malice. Your reward is not of this earth.
Can we return to out natural pagan state? Can we leave our tribe behind? If their authority is that passed down by Pharaoh, will the party let the people go? What will it take? What plague must befall the temple and the money changers to change their ways? Who is to awakened those not free?
The best the party has to offer is itself. Prepackaged. Prepaid. Presumptive. Goldstein wishes you the renewal spring brings. Stop and smell the flowers as soon as you can. Do you think the Easter Bunny will hold out for a cabinet position? EPA maybe?

13. Rhetoric
We will depart from our standard explanation and location of the subject in order to recount the double think of recently offered promises. Giving fixed loans at affordable interest rates to borrowers is commendable, even bailing out a collection of middle class over spenders has some merit. Why? It is the juxtaposition to the take over on one investment bank by the party. That is all that matters. Disgruntled at the unfairness is cause enough to heap new debt upon old and expanding welfare in drips and drabs in competition to buy hearts and minds. Enough! Comrades what can we afford? Just what is our bottom line? Just how deep do you think the well is?
Reform. Yes, reform. The sooner we enter the path of accountability, the stark naked numbers of debt and income, the quicker revaluation will happen. The time to issues new currency is galloping at full speed in our direction. How so? Did the party not re-adjust the market price of the bank they confiscated and resold with an unlimited warranty from failure? And did the new owner profit from the issue's increase in market value? You were not distracted by the return to the east asia war were you? Too much in one news cycle. Good citizen get some rest.
Our growing dependency on party promises is not beneficial. Citizen, the choice is not; a- you win,I lose or b- I win, you lose. No one in the party is willing to venture into the morass created by the indebtedness this nation, its' finical institutions, and what its' citizens hold. They pine and crone love songs at their faithful followers. They skip and dance around the flag pole of class, race, and injustice. Are we to become spell bound by the illusions?
Citizen, in a state of dishonesty and deception how can we determine our worth, our value. The party solution has failed. Better to revalue now in an orderly fashion and issues the new currency than wait for the run on the banks. Give us truth in lending by reporting the value now. Not some piecemeal, account shifting, deregulated, covert operation by the party and friends. We, comrades will get the bill one way or the other. If it kills the right wing plan to continue corporate welfare, so be it. If it stops the left wing from expanding unrealistic spending programs, do it.
Citizen, it is our pension. It is our requirement for health care for all. It is a requirement to educate all at the best cost. It is building a sound economic base on which to go forward. The patchwork, corporate, party dominated structure is failing on a global scale. The revaluation is coming. Shall it be orderly or are we to trust in market forces?
The party is here for your polling data, your donation, your protection and amusement.

29. If the Bill fits.
Comrades, our dear beloved friends in the party are again attempting to patch the wings of the economy while in mid flight. That is a feat of truly un-bipartisan, pre election, post primary, account fluctuating proportions that only the party could compel. It is not a 300 billion bail out to match the illicit way of the banking families' best friends; no, it is fairness for the little guy with a mortgage he can't pay. We are so relieved at that news. In fact the lenders must voluntarily enter into the program if they wish to cover their possible losses. With a 15% discount up front that is not negotiable. Independent appraisers will attest to the new value of said homes and all will be well. Price tag: 2 to 3 billion on the low end or 300 billion if all goes to hell in a hand basket. The floor so to speak is before us. So, comrades the paradigm is set by which you are to revalue, 15% off the top.
The right wing is livid at the proposal of tax payer funds not going to their friends, read corporate constituents. Truth be told that was a done deal as the right has flushed the worm hole with new improved cash in several previous appropriations. So why the outrage over a mere 3 billion of up font money? The same reason markets like volatility. They make money the old fashion way, they steal it on speculation of market movement. The higher the anxiety or the glow of profitability equate to the same bottom line. Should the floor actually hold, the lull continues and the extortion continues in the party's favor. That being the left wing of the party. The market can resume in over pricing something else as homeowner equity stabilizes less 15%. Sounds like a plan.
So slowly the pieces show themselves, like a chess game by flashlight in a darkened room. So how does one build a bubble without inflating it? That comrades is the question the Fed is asking itself as we think the next move ahead.
Good citizen have you noticed the lack of war reporting? The death spiral of experience as timed by the market? The gloating of the hopeful at that sight? The call to rearm for honor's sake? Comrades, the Legion is in harm's way still. The revaluation continues with a gratuity of 15% added to a party of three or more, built in.
As always, the party is here for your protection. And please contribute to a local food bank if you can.

14. The Gathering.
If this comes to pass, the absolute power to enforce a controlled economy through fiat is on the horizon. The proposal by the good fellas in the GWB to shift regulation to the FED of the entire banking system, to include anything that touches money, is the play of this century. In financial terms, this is a coup.
Expect the party to comply, comrades. They are after all here for your banking and investing pleasure. So what if the ship of institutional commerce is about to run a-ground. While we scanned the deep seas of debt for the next iceberg; the chief engineer of the Titanic and crew have steered for shore. Listing and taking on water, pumps failing, bulkheads' straining against the pressure of insolvency; what was left to do? Simple enough, run the whole ship at full speed to the coast they know so well. No, the port of call will not be the homeland. The fabled island of global banking is the destination.
While the helicopters from the Ben in the road have rescued the top tier as promised, steerage is going under. Drowned in debt. Those healthy souls who rowed for all they were worth gasped at the sight. The Too Big to Fail went under. Other vessels will follow, as those in the row boats shiver with the expectation they too will flounder in the wake of the USS Indebtedness. And the chief engineer assures you, good citizen, they have a plan.
The Gathering of Bankers. This is not the first time for the good fellas. A little back tracking, pre WW2 and just who's familia paternis was charting the depths of the commercial banking industry of the Axis? The more times change, the more they remain the same.
Are we to by pass the Amero and go directly to the Globo? Let's have the bankers decide. They are the experts in this field. The party will want their opinion. You, comrade will attend to your duties of as supporters of experience, hope, and what country am I in?

15. Markers.
Also known as IOU's, are passed around as means of repaying debt without the actors exchanging their own wealth. A form of loan sharking encompassing those not holding good citizenship merit badges. Sound familiar comrade? We will not be surprised if the illegal activity of loansharking is reported as the charges under consideration for several institutions. De-regulation is not outside the limit of inspection. De-regulation is not outside the standard of a reasonable assigned risk. That in fact, de-regulation infers risk. Operating on the edges of the legal, of relying on one's ability to surmount adversity by anticipating outcomes. Pushing the accepted as close as possible to it's limits. Betting against the house with insurance to cover the next turn of card, knowing the dealer is in fact your employee or partner.
One might reason given the circumstances, deception is in fact expected. So how can transparency illuminate a shadow? There must be an outside source with the capacity to reveal that which is held secret. Failing that, good citizen, the dark side will stay de-regulated for it's own good. For if you were to see what is not there, your fate in economic terms will revert to wondering if pregnancy tests actually case conception. After all, celebration intercourse is not unknown even among party members.
In summary, one must expect the calling in of markers or the exchange of services for goods as good as markers. And that comrades is the new version of oversight of the financial industry. Let the inter-coursing continue so long as no one can see just what exactly there is to see. In the darkest of rooms perception still works. Blindly and under the covers.
Did you miss the news of the conception results comrade? The dow rose four hundred with a marker held by someone looking forward to November. Or is it to be June? The party as always is here giving intercourse the support of the millions for the benefit of the few.

16. Chickens.
We are perplexed. As the economic engine responsible for the creation and manipulation of world markets, America has no equal. The currency of the world is for now the almighty dollar. Nations and their citizens have many dollars which they received in exchange for their commodities, products and services. To boost their return, the profitability of these dollars, they invest in our markets or purchase notes of obligation that promise interest payable in dollars. It is all about self interest on the part of the investor; where to get the most bang for the least buck. As market places go, we are the 7-11 of the world.
Printing dollars is another concern. It is not that any nation or individual uses dollars to complete transactions, to create wealth per se,it is the worth of those dollars that matters. More dollars printed, the larger the supply, the greater the obligation to sustain the need for more dollars. Inflation of prices based on the falling value of the dollar; the dollar is traded as is wheat or oil, the diminishing of its' value by the increase in speculation looking for a higher return, the more demand for more dollars, creates the absolute need to print more dollars to cover the borrowing and lending or investing. New money is exactly that. It is printed to meet need.
Comrades, say you are a reputable chicken farmer. Your chickens produce eggs and you control the supply to meet the demand for your eggs. If your chickens over produce eggs, their value lessens. So to with dollars.
What is perplexing is the logic imposed that because you are reputable, people will buy your eggs. Not so. If your eggs are thought to be too expensive, people will shop else where. If in fact, the eggs are on par with other eggs, what obligation have they to buy here given a global market in eggs? What if the eggs are in fact so many, you stop reporting just how many are being produced? If say, the eggs are higher in quantity and lower in quality just where does this leave the farm? Living on the reputation of the farmer? Not likely.
Confidence in the farm's ability to sustain the production of eggs out weighs belief in reputation by a country mile. Those consumers of eggs will demand more and more eggs as they enjoy the lower cost and high return of their purchase. Some will even invest to expand your farm. Some will speculate on the egg market or farmland values. Some will sell eggs back at a profit to met the demand for more eggs. Yes, comrades trust in your chickens for they do rule the world.
Now some may infer this is all part of another plot, excuse me, plan by Goldstein. Nothing is farther from the truth. For it is we, the producing populace, who have more at stake then do foreign investors. How low will our standard of living fall when they stop buying our eggs? We have in fact raised their standard with access to our markets. Which is a positive as far as it goes. There is the need to change the administration of the farm though. The current lessor is better suited for guano cultivation.

17. Flogging.
To strike repeatedly with a cat-o-nine tails across a bare back. An ancient time honored means to inflict a cruel and inhuman punishment. Prohibited by the Constitution though not specifically named, the last navy in the world to ban its' use was ours. Navies at sea were immune to the idea that cruelty was a breech of civilization. On land other rules apply. A tradition passed down one navy to another for centuries. While officers were considered to be members of the gentle class, the code that punished their transgressions was one of demonstrating the dishonorable offender to his peers. Social stigma and loss of standing in the community would bring a gentleman to ruin. Not to mention his family and fortune.
The crew on the other hand was something all together different. Impressed, bonded, some enlisted desperate to find a way out of poverty, all commoners by classification. Their rank was seaman. Above that rank was the title of the job they preformed: gunner, cook, mate. Their fate rested on the skill of officers and obedience to orders and regulations. Control of any type of fire was paramount in importance. Gun powder and wooden ships make for an interesting disaster. Order had to be enforced upon a rather rough collection of men. There were pirates to contend with. Competing nation's had no problem with seizing a rival's ship. Slavery, both a black and white trade were not uncommon around the birth of this nation. Still around in various forms in the early 1900s. The south China seas, the gulf of Arabia, the Barbary coast and all. So what of it, you ask?
Mind set. The thought process behind those Capitan's of industry, the commanders of corporations and their executive underlings view of we, the crew. The increase in the war footing and drum beating for what reason? They don't flog us as punishment any more, hopefully. Instead, the means to keep order is to sow distrust. Fermenting antagonisms we are all susceptible to. Raising fear among the crew while dinning at the capitan's table. Given the presence of pirates and competing nations, we are left adrift without provisions.
What of the disgraced officer class on who's watch the ship caught fire due to their self enrichment? Nothing. They stand as tall as all the wealth they can muster. Snobbish and unashamed. And what pray tell will the party do to correct this? What of those Ladies and Gentlemen? The party is at best bipartisan in the gifting of these masters of the tide that raises all boats. How comforting.

18. Of interest.
(aawsat.com) The article of interest is by Huda Al Husseini, The Consequences of Invading Basra. As we comrades are in want of information, to plan for swings in direction as the party contorts the truth; this is but one reason why the Legion will not be leaving the land of the hanging gardens for quite some time to come. Please look over the bussiness section also.
Please plan accordingly. Expect oil prices to profit the friends of beloved leader. Yes, coming sooner then we expected, the Robed Ones are switching currencies. Expanding the basket to insure fair trade. A little extra euro, a smidgen of yen, a whiff of swiss francs, a dash of dollars; a spread already held by the G8 in the rainy day fund. You do recall the IMF? Don't expect to hear their band playing our national anthem or anyone else's. It's about the money, not about who's god is greater. Bankers measure god in his relation to themselves. One matters, the other does not.
As for the good citizens with the expectation all will be set right? That the newly elected President will prevail, that the party will resist temptation, the war in east asia will end? That markets will end their slow walk and moved to a pleasant trot? Possibly a vigorous cantor no less? Investing in lottery tickets looks like a practical solution. The similarity of this election cycle to the quip, you have to be in it to win it, comes to mind.
Comrades, when the IMF begins dumping gold in agreement with the banking community where does this put the dollar? As the price of rice becomes un-affordable for way too many in the gap known as the third world, just how long will corporate farmers go before congress amends their version of the farm bill? Death and taxes, one actually has a purpose in promoting incentive.
As always, the party will stay invested to secure your right to vote for the person of their choice. To keep America clean, because cleanliness is close to godliness. Lord knows the heathens are filthy evil creatures who hate you for no good reason and you have the candidates word on it.

19. Inversion.
To change the deportment of an object that is accepted as being the correct state of that object; to present as normal in relation to its' stature, the aspect of said object being observed as other then right side up. Or how creative accounting requires the suspension of realism. Found in general among exclusive organizations that directly benefit from such topsy-turvy invention of profitability or enhancement of the expectation of the possibility of profitability. A dynamic positioning that prepares the way to change the consideration of wealth building and capital formation. In short, a con job. This being the current and future state as proposed by the inner party is nothing new, what is new is the globalization of the process and the rapidity in closing the deal. Comrades, the movement of capital to developing markets and the de-industrialization of the motherland has happened over a thirty year span. For the most part post the east asia war of indo-china. The results of which exhausted the accumulated reserves of the new deal and removed the consensus of moral and financial conservatism of the nation. The expansion of the concepts of personal freedoms and the relaxation of the depression era requirements to maintain self sustainability ended with the withdraw of government by the people. The inner party established what it believes to be its' right to impose their concept of nation-hood by means of assassination and propaganda. The training and planning learned in the southern hemisphere operations were incorporated to include the party general. A cycle of boon and bust under the control of the party's employers over took the reliance of market place rules. Gone are the underpinnings of pensions and benefits replaced by a party supported nationalized system of poor house compensation. The many are now closer to the status of commoner, an english euphemism for lower class (poor), then at any time in this nation's history. This restructuring of the investment-banking system's oversight has all the making of indenturing the citizenship to continued debt servicing far far into the future. The plan of the inner party was to tie indebtedness to the need for collective security. They have succeeded.

20. Concern.
Comrades, in reviewing months of commentary, one becomes aware the warnings issued in many posts across a broad segment of financial correspondence were correct. That in fact, they were predictive. Given the flux of the daily market and the near miss at implosion, we need to make a carefully reasoned look at our present position.
Good citizen, the narrow bandwidth of trading is likened to a string much too taught. That given the resonance of the surrounding strings, one might think the sound is intentional. That when this note is amplified, it is understandably in phase with the other notes being played. These strings are under considerably more strain as adjustments are introduced to tune the notes into balance. What we suspect comrades is we are only slightly tone deaf. Collectively unable to discern unique notes while enjoying the dissonance as we move to the beat. Just where does this lead us? Firstly, the volume needs to be lowered to insure a proper investigation as to which string is defective. Secondly, one should not rule out the possibility that the tightest string is reasonably tuned; that the strings surrounding it are out of balance. Thirdly, it may be the case that the instrument itself is defective, warped or damaged in its' ability to produce some form of interaction that is complimentary. If the latter is the case, no amount of string replacement, fine tuning, detuning, or amplification will correct the outcome. The best played instrument is true to the skill of its' player. If the last statement is true, what have we to to deduce?
That comrades is our concern. Given the imbalances we see daily, the lack of capital flow, the bunkering up of major banks and investment houses; what is their expectation? Cooking the books in good times to avoid taxation and garnering share price is par for the course. But in a post bubble, zero growth, declining profitability, unrecordable mark downs, and with no oversight to speak of, just what model or school have the masters of commerce taken to. The measures to hold onto a 12000 Dow are the modern equivalent of building Rome in a day. They are near panic. That is their fear come true. Fear is the market killer. Fear creates runs on banks. Fear implodes stock exchanges.
Comrades, we can give apathy its' due with justified honors, though we are actively seeking a new direction for the nation? We stand steadfast in the face of the this storm as though we have immunity, where's the justification for that belief?
Goldstein is concerned the party is about to create a new crisis. The temptation is becoming obsessive. Tread carefully comrades.

22. The plan.
We must consider our stake in this venture called American Democracy and our duty to preserve our rights. Times have changed and we must change with the times or perish. So to with our form of government. The Preamble to the Constitution charges us with the responsibility to govern ourselves as a free people. The Bill of Rights grants us rights though not listed, are ours non the less. In keeping with both, we comrades have no choice but to petition for redress. As the majority of the Nation's citizens concur that we are on the wrong path as a nation, we as good citizens must require the Congress to step down. This being for the good of the Nation. On July 4 2008, a New Congress will take up the people's business. All powers and duties of the Congress will be transfered to the New Congress as care taker's of the Nation. To include the use of the Nation's Armed Forces for any purpose other then the defense of the Nation. All committees of the past Congress will be placed on hold pending the National Elections in November 2008. Any business necessary to the protection and welfare of the citizens of the nation shall be undertaken to assure the continuity of Nation. A simple majority vote will decide the need to act in the interest of the people. No new taxes, levies, tariffs or treaties are to be imposed until the national election of Congress in 2009. A resolution to extend the current budget through this period to include sixty day past the taking of office of the new nationally elected President will be the last act of the current Congress. The New Congress will not amend the current budget during this transition. This New Congress will be the current States Governors having been elected by popular vote of the citizens of their State. During the thirty days starting June 4 2008 to their taking office, the authority of all branches of government will retain their constitutional duties. Within thirty days of taking office in the New Congress, the New Congress will elect from within their ranks an acting President and Vice President. Once sworn in, by August 4 2008, the current President and Vice President shall resign. Upon the new President taking office in January 2009, the New Congress will post a date for election for the next Congress by March 1 2009. These election will occur no later than 4 July 2009.
During this transition, The Nation's Armed Forces are charged with the protection of the American People at the direction of the New Congress until the interim President and Vice President have taken office. The interim President will take the power of Commander and Chief until the nationally elected President takes office in January 2009. No new authority or privilege is to be conferred by the New Congress upon the Interim President or Vice President. No amendment shall be made to the current Constitution prior to the national election of the Congress in 2009.
This comrades is the clean slate we require. The restoration of the rights of the People. It may not end corruption and will hold to the status quo for the interim. What choices have we? Are we to risk another war without our consent? The Congress has failed its' duty for what ever reason.
The split on the Governors is 28 left and 22 right. They are the closest thing we have to representational governance by popular vote. There is nothing to exclude current members of congress from running in 2009. We can take up a third or fourth party in the national congressional elections. Say Liberal Democratic Party or Fearless Agnostics for Change Party. You know there will be the NRA Party and ACLU Party too. We are after all a Nation of party people.
This will of course require your participation. So far Goldstein's national bankruptcy plan is doing well. You are lax in the Life Adviser plan though. And this not spending has got to stop. As always, the party will not stop without you. Next comes Goldstein's economic plan for the Nation.

23. Edit.
Yes there are flaws to the plan. There are supposed to be flaws. The concept of restoring some control of the citizenry is what matters in the imminent future. The party is using food as a weapon. This is not the first time this has happened. By leaving the speculators to their own devices, the party has exempted themselves from all civilized responsibility.
As history repeats itself, ie. there was no oil shortage in the great recession of the 70's. It was contrived and endorsed by the same oligarchs of the inner party seeking greater power for themselves. The same as today. What followed was the dismantling of the American Dream. You do recall junk bonds and hostile takeovers that consumed job after job in the post revaluation of the economy? CDOs and hedge funds are what pray tell? Comrades, what has changed is the overtness of the financial aggression. The inner party has no interest in our fate. The party is explicit in their denial of our rights. patriot act 1 and 2. The home grown internal patriot act. The price at the pump. The price for health care. We needed oil in the 70s, we still do today. The party is still promising we shall overcome. The old is gone for good, so educate yourself for the future. What you need is a tax cut.
As long as the party stays in power and the deals are made to benefit themselves, what do you expect? Goodness and light? A city on the hill? Comrades, we are past the declaration of class warfare and have been for some time. Given the control taken by the Ministry of Wealth to seize and transfer the private holdings of a corporation to itself in the cause of financial prudence smacks of totalitarianism. And where is our beloved Congress? Busy emailing you to send money for the good of the party. The good fellas in the GWB are playing diplomat. Where have we seen that one before?
The news is the news. They said so, that's all you need to know. The party is here for your protection.

24. The Economic Plan.
There are two possibilities as seen by Goldstein, Re-formation or Clean Slate. The business of Re-formation is very messy. All that blood split, ruination, destruction, etc, etc. All Re-formation contains struggle, Comrades look no farther than the indo-china ten thousand days war. That was Re-Formation. That is what the party knows. That is the religion of the party. Empire, God and Country.
True, we have no quarrel with justified punishment for transgressors of the peace. Peace which includes economic justice and the demands of a free people for just governance. What we fear is the blood letting of revolution that speaks for Re-Formation. This is not a path we need take. Good citizens, we shall hold this option as is necessary. For the government should fear it's people. Which is our obligation, our duty as citizens, as freemen to put them to judgment for their deeds.
Clean Slate. You owe nothing. What you own today is yours. Your house, your car, your farm, your business, your stock, your bank account, are yours. You owe nothing. Personal debt is wiped clean. Gone. Done. With this comes the end of credit cards. If you do not qualify for a loan on the basis of what you can afford, you don't get one. A Federal national tax of 15% replaces all other taxes,no exemptions as to where the money comes from or how much you have. All corporate taxes are abolished. No write offs, no deductions, no subsidies shall remain. All monies collected on tariffs, land grants, access to mineral rights, oil rights etc will be assessed at current value and new leases offered. This too is the sole property of the American People.
It all goes into one fund. The National Account of the American People. By referendum, we will tell our government how it is to be spent. Misuse of this fund for personal gain or party influence is treason. One trial, one appeal, a life term sentence if found guilty and 365 days to get it done.
The common welfare of the people is the purpose of this fund. The common defense will not exceed an amount determined by the People's National Referendum but not less then 2% of the total.
Or we can hope we have the honor of experiencing a change of heart from the party come this election cycle. Goldstein is not here for your protection.

25. Future planning.
Good citizen, how shall we prepare for our future. Shall we continue to pay the into pension funds anticipating the day we can retire? Seems prudent to put something away for that purpose. We have in our life time watched the stock market take many directions. Upward being the preferred position after a purchase. We have seen the value of our home rise steadily over many years. Our wages compared to the preceding generation or seceding generation are more then decent though not plush.
Good citizen what is our worry? That we will not be able to reap the rewards we have toiled after these many years? That the very idea of retirement has passed us by? That we will leave the next generation with a bill they are incapable of paying? Or are we to continue to labor to support ourselves and that next generation and the ones that preceded ours? It appears we have little choice given our current deficits, national or private.
Our purpose has to be the care and feeding of this our motherland before anyone else. It is not charity that begins at home, it is responsibility. The dedication and desire to fix which is with in our means. To not simply restore the infrastructure and systems of civil society, to go well beyond. Encompassing the whole of our natural environment and means of commerce, our governing bodies and the welfare of this nation's citizenry.
We can, should we wish to, remove those from power who have entrapped the majority's rights to a more prefect union. What we may not do, how ever sorely tempted, is to allow this nation to continue on the path to self destruction fomented by the trifling power brokers of the inner party. We may not leave them to their rules of opportunity as they see fit. Prepare for battle Comrades. This is the lull before the storm if Goldstein is correct. If we are wrong, we will be truly grateful.

26. Fearlessness.
Why good citizen do you cling to your debt? Vanity is not a place where one sleeps soundly. Envy of other's prosperity is a self inflicted wound. Have we become a nation of "cutters" conjuring pleas for help that will not come? When we hide behind the veil of median income middle class values, just what are we hoping for? A return to the good old days of pre-globalization and the security of cold war simplicity?
Gone. All gone, comrades. Lift off the veil and free yourself. Emancipation of the mind requires no formality. Ending consumption of the great truth brings peace. Accepting the world will not go back to what is was requires us to look forward. To stand in the present and hoping for a better future is not time well spent. What we, good citizens, require is a change in our thinking.
That "Z" endorsed, that "Q" wants rules complied with, that dissension, disparity are alive and well are all good things. That markets gyrate, that fools step in, that the beat of a different drummer continues is in itself proof you can think for yourself. So why do you cling to your debt?
Will the world end by fire, or shall it be ice? Asked poet Robert Frost. It does not matter was his answer. You are being offered the resolution to problems created by the very same persons who created the problems in the first place. They are in total the Lawyers the Bard passed sentence on. It is not who they are, it is what they do. The great truth continues, a win fall profits tax. A tax on the rich. A tax break for the middle class. Insure stability in the great sand box by a) using atomic weapons, b) a thousand year war, c) talking with everybody. And while we are tearing at each other's champion, the great truth gets stronger. The chains harder. The doubts multiply. The party continues.
Comrades if it is best to have the government fear the people, why then is it permissible for the party to live in smug conceit? Markets enjoy a good fight. Look forward to one.

36. Up grading the meds.
Comrades, westerebus has committed a thought crime, yes, again! One would like to think the meds haven't lost their power to keep enemies of the state in check, that's not the case. Shall we call a court of inquiry or add a few joules to the amperage? Painful discovery is the course set by the Good Fellas. Courts the home field of rascals. No, both just will not do. What then good citizen shall suffice? Goldstein has a plan!
CONFESSION. Westerebus states the following: I have taken an innocent person to task who was in fact coming to my aid. And of all persons, a Gentle Giant. Therefore, where as, and to whit, Goldstein's next plan is dedicated to giants, where ever they may roam.
Comrades, we are in short supply of Trolls. No, not the political kind, we have them three score deep on the primary OPs. True Trolls. The kind one smells before and after they arrive and depart. The type best described as scab laden defilers of proper manners. Bogger eating moron Trolls. Fart sniffing Trolls. Age is no object when we speak of Troll behavior. Trolls have neither race or gender worth consideration. Red headed step child Trolls. And just why do we have a need for such creatures? There are voters available amongest the Majoritus Moralus that require conversion. They will need a not so gentle 'experience' to bring them closer to the light of truth. An army of Trolls just might do the trick. Now turn to page 886 and we shall all sing: Bringing in the Trolls. Then page 41: This Troll's for you. And that all time favorite on page 666: The Trollis Cantas Horribulius Et Spiritus. This, we hope comrades, will please the Giants who live among us.
Now has anyone watched Gold futures lately? Something is a miss, the bugs themselves are not so sure which end to play. This insecurity being based on monetary circulations and commodity bubble explanations in their commentaries. Got palladium?

34. Continued.
Good news comrades! Thankfully the thought police have arrived to save you from dribble, a sucking demeanor, and dystopia cliche. Now you have to admit that just doesn't happen every day. No matter. Goldstein does thank them for getting the column straight and their words of encouragement.
The idea that a view that differs from one's own is suspect, reveals nothing. The fact one finds fault with another's view provides opportunity to interrogate those views is why we are here. We can differ and we do. Freedom of speech shall not be infringed.
Our objective is not to quarrel over bits and pieces. We leave that to those better qualified. Those who require quarreling over bits and pieces on the other hand will not enjoy Goldstein. One of our objectives is to report our view for your amusement. If in the course of this, you find something of interest, then Goldstein has met one of his objectives.
Good citizen, the party awaits your verdict. Shall the presumed provider of hope enumerate the positions as to where he will take this nation's economy? Is it still too early? Are the markets not ready to factor in the improved costs of doing business? How will capital respond should experience default? The glow from the board room anticipates the honoring of past commitments from the good fellas' best friend. And all this directly affects you, good citizen. If there are no plans to consolidate the gains of the left wing of the party, what will the strategy be going forward in respect to white working class males, black working class males, all classes, all genders, working or not? And what of the investments of the thought police? Will their short selling of Iranian atomic energy futures go bust? Will all the good deeds of the party come back this election day to assure you their rightful place is at the head table? Time will tell. The party continues.

37. Don Ho.
Boomer's will know immediately if you sing, tiny bubbles in the wine.. All others will look mystified and for good reason. It preceded, don't worry be happy, by a million years. The point being somethings are just not worth worrying about. There is this constant droning about a world wide recession and possible collapse of the entire capitalist economic system unprecedented in the history of man. But, it has happened before. Prior to the first and just before second world war, the world was in a much worse state. Not much comfort in that is there comrades? Then again look where this forced politics and the creation of wealth. Huge disparity between the "have" nations and everybody else. The great schism of this western democracy and it's practice of economic empire vice the socialism of the communist state. Butter and bullets as opposed to just bullets.
The modern world has come to rely on the collective ability of this democracy to shoulder the burden against tyrants. The implication being this nation will do all the nasty stuff at great expense while others reap the benefits. So why do we as the most powerful democratic nation in history allow this to happen? Are we the wage slaves of the corporate masters so content or so fearful? Or are we justified in our actions? Just what would happen if we pulled out of Babylon? Is it reasonable to expect the price of oil to go back to $30 a barrel? That the Sunni and Shia and Kurds will reach accommodation without a genocide? And if the Robed Ones enter on the side of the Bathist's? Just how high will our commodities' traders raise the cost of flour and rice to counter the rise in oil prices? Just who is going to protect the oil tankers, the bulk cargo ships, the infrastructure of global commerce, the internet, the banking system, the market that values currencies, the market itself?
The party will act on our behalf when it suits it's purposes. We are not leaving east asia any time soon comrades. We can't take the risk. The party knows it. The Robed Ones know it too. We hear now of the commodity bubble. The escalation in inflation continues. Still the fed pumps more capital into the market. Debt expands. Liberty gives way to security. Democracy to who knows what. Speculation has returned to the dialog box. The party salutes you, good citizen. Stand and be counted.

38. Farm bill.
Good citizen do you clip coupons for the grocery store? Buy in bulk at the warehouse club? Invest in the future of the commodities exchanges? While you may do the first two, you are deeply invested in the third. That cost is borne by all citizens in the form of the subsidies paid out on your behalf to the agri-business. At one time it was call price supports, to keep family farmer's farming in bad times. Then it was co-opted as school lunches and free cheese for the less fortunate, still keeping the family farmer on the farm, but barely. Currently, our independent minded Congress has in its' wonderfully bipartisan way, continued the transfer of capital (your taxes) to both the family and corporate farmers for all the wrong reasons, while all farmers continue to farm as prices continue to climb and profits grow.
You are too harsh on our farmers, Goldstein. It takes years of hard work and it's expensive to produce produce. They get some help from the government, what's wrong with that? Do you want people to starve? Aren't prices high enough? There are people starving all around the world. Look at the cost of oil. That's the problem! Look at the profits they are making!
Exactly, the cost of oil. The same corporations who get tax breaks and subsidies defend their right to profit at your expense because that's what the Congress allows and encourages them to do. Cabbages are more expensive because they come from asia on ships and are cross countried by truck and rail. That is part of agri-business and oil business and Congress business. If by some far fetched chance, the subsidies and tax breaks were phased out could we, good citizens, continue the American way of life? How is it we condemn the profits of the oil industry and give a pass to the agri-industry?
Yes, thanks to the media and the party, we can define our foes. Determine what profits are immoral and unjust. Cows cause as much pollution as airplanes. Congress causes as much gas as cows expel per annum. Are we headed back to the farm? Will we spend for mass transit and give up SUVs. The media predicts a shift in consumer spending. Just at what point will the Congress realize we are not happy campers? At what point will the unhappy campers kick the party in its' collective ass to get their attention? Look for a great time at this years conventions. May the sacred cow bless you, as the party is up to its' neck in sand of their own making.

39. Smoke.
Look no farther then the talking box and you can almost smell it. Yes, comrades the lilting wisps of smoke from afar. Is it the camp fires of the ungodly hordes planning their next attack? Could it be the burning of victims perished in the recent calamities? Is it possible that the party has set flame to injustice? No. None of the above in this case.
This is was is left when the house was burnt down by it's occupants. The left wing of the party has called in the markers and promptly burned them. With the expectation all will come in line and do for the good of the party what needs doing. Politics makes for strange bedfellows, even if the bed is set afire by its' occupants. Now that was the reason the house caught fire in the first place. Was there insurance good citizen? Not by any measure we can determine. We are on the outside comrades, and having watched it burn down, are not so sure reconstruction is possible. It is practical. It is necessary. Is it possible though? Does anyone have a casualty count that's verifiable? Experience perished in the fire, yet is now forged anew. That's more then disconcerting to say the least.
And hope? What of hope? Emerged better seasoned for the experience. So they say. Both meeting with the friends of the Reformed Orange Growers, none to soon by the looks of it. And what of the markets is what we really want to know? Oil down. Dollar up. Investigations of and reports coming in creating a softening on the street. Bend a buck plain speaking as opposed to jawboning. The chorus sings in tune, well almost, "the tide is turned", well almost.
Is it presumptuous to applaud the party's timing? No, comrades it is expected. Which remind us, the Robed Ones are not swapping their greenbacks this year. While their cost for food has increased considerably, they will make do until 2010. At which time, they will revisit the link of oil to dollar. So the currency we are so fond of has viability left. Is it possible we will run out of ink before they run out of oil? Goldstein commends your patience. The party reminds you there is no talking in line.

40. Heating oil.
Under the petroleum grouping of commodities, we find heating oil. Which lead the expansion in oil pricing this past friday. Heating oil in June? Going up and up and up. Heating oil is also know as diesel fuel. Yes, comrades, the same used by the heavy truck fleets the world over. Just what does this tell us? Firstly, we have no energy policy. Thank you dear party leaders. Secondly, four non american auto makers are bringing clean diesels here this fall. No collusion or price fixing between our auto makers and the oil industry with their helpful friends in the party should be assumed. The party is here for your high mileage needs. Truly, just a slight coincidence you need not bother yourself about good citizen. And have you heard the joke about the carbon cap and trade bill as proposed in the people's senate? What do you call the sound of a bill that is read aloud in the Senate? Next year's business.
All of which came as the next possible head of the Reformed Orange Growers declared: "the bombing starts as soon as it starts". And that little man in tan declared: "double dog dare you". All this as the left wing of the party assures all good citizens, you have no choice, vote for us. And the right wing of the party admitted, the only thing they ever did wrong was actually right, but, they have no proof and neither do you. If you don't believe them just ask the media; the watch dogs of liberalism and so on point when it comes to pre, real and post war reporting. If they only had more market share; they tell us, all will be better then ever.
Let us not forget our banking friends across the pond. The ben in the road, our FED offered a calming of rates and support of hair club for men and what does the European Central Bank do. Raise their rates and depress the dollar. You don't think they are upset with the dark pool deals the FED is doing in the back ground do you? Please don't mention wheat, corn, soy, cotton, or any thing else subsidized and traded here. We just do not play well with others. The party insists that is an extra curricula activity best left to their over sight.
The party wishes you well. The party seeks your wish. They wish that what you want is what they have to offer. And some say children are disappointed when they find out there is no easter bunny. Alas, there is always, the party.

41. Migration.
Comrades have you considered the effects of half a billion people moving across the the asian-minor land bridge into the EU would have? A population disruption in mass would devastate the economy and the ecology of the nations they cross. To say nothing of what happens to where they end up. Those with empty bellies and nothing to loose will walk to where ever food and water exist. Think of the all the tragedies currently in motion and add an ex-potential to that misery. What you have is the possibility of disorder beyond the destruction of the last world war. NGOs, nation-state governments, democratic or dictatorships, will not stem this human tidal wave. The causes of which may not be avoidable, though the mitigations of institutional destruction and mass causalities may be curtailed. The two hundred thousand dead by natures hand in asia will look insignificant if change is not forced on the world's governments. This is not end times wishful thinking, the creed shared in large part by tens of thousands of zealots, but pretty close. Massive population displacement due to starvation and death from dehydration may not be followed by the rapture of a golden age. The nature of man's history bears testament to plague, famine, war and flood. Modernism and progress have not stemmed man's destructive ways. Market forces, government, even the intervention of the god's have failed to stem his consumption. Brutality will be the worse for wear by mid century if nothing changes.
When the banking investment system gets a grip, we will go back to the land of the big truth. All is well. You are safe. The party is here for your protection. The rest of our world is not as fortunate as we are. Comrades make your vote count. We will still have the party. What they don't know is where we have moles, spies, provocateurs, agents, and fifth columnists in their ranks. The party will continue the purge of the faithful and mindless in hope of good ratings come the fall.

42. On war.
Comrades, to make war one must have some objective in mind, some goal to be attained. In the past the acquisition of land mass and the control of resources within a given land mass fall under the general heading of plunder. Good enough reason to get things moving. Then there is national honor or religious belief or kinship or moral duty, all tried and true. We can not forget the nobler reasons in the cause of war; life, liberty, and our best of all things covered by the pursuit of happiness clause.
We are told the war the east asia was set out on a false premise and we will ultimately bring all the sorrows and joys of a capitalist democracy to this region for all the right reasons. That our Legions are extensions of our diplomatic agenda in an up close and personal way. That harm befalls those who would harm our very core values. The party insists you understand, all this is for your protection. But how might an ally of those under our care disrupt the party's plans?
There are no forces world wide with the capacity to remove the Legion from where it stands. Despite the strain of police action counter insurgency operations in two wars, our force structure is expanding and advancing. Comrades, our history repeats itself with clock-like precision in all things military. So, the question remains, how does one open a new front on the big green machine?
What you attack is the other half of the complex. Faced with over whelming firepower at the front, go round back and look for a weak point. There it is. All alone. Engrossed in its' own self centered interests. The industrial half of the complex, specifically, the trading floors and backrooms of the keeper's of the beast. Drain the oil from your car it will stop in its' tracks. Drain the liquidity from a market, the result is similar. Short your enemies when possible and watch them dither in frustration. Bleed the system almost dry. What is unpopular becomes redundant, something to be discarded. Raise the price to lower the morale. Lessening the operational tempo as the cost of fuel impacts the domestic side of the house. Assist the party in all things monetary. But cover your bets first.
The economic warfare of the 21st century all supported with algebraic equations. Who was it that invented algebra? Hint. It was not the party. The party is more adept at running disinformation campaigns, such as the new improved FISA game. It's tougher, it's stronger, it's unbelievably good for you too! You have their word on it.

43. Poison pill.
Have we engineered a poison pill economic model so tempting yet utterly toxic, none can resist? The reason we ask this question is the reality of the moment does not met with the caution it deserves. According to our good fellas in the great white bunker, things are slow but not so slow as to warrant consideration of dramatic cuts in spending. They or their close friends put huge sums in the farm bill and then gassed a veto to no where. Both the Ben in the road and the rest of the Plunge Protection Team have screeched themselves hoarse looking for buyers. What they have for sale was once owned by the members of the Rising Sun Two Stroke Club. Those were the days before the dollar/yen co-habitation was deemed unholy. Today, good citizens, we will gladly embrace yuan's from Mr. Mao's All Stars. Has time changed? Or is this another sucker's bait and switch deal in the making?
Come buy our companies. Come on down and let's make a deal. Name that tune. Big money. Sound familiar? Dress up like a pirate, a crown prince, Odd-job, Taurus Bulba for that matter; just get over here and place your bets. The RS2SC paid big bucks for TV land and now they have a stultified economy. How did that happen? The friends of the party screwed them big time that's how. We are the master's of inflation are we not? Junk bonds? Savings and Loans? CDOs? Hedge funds? Now who says we are not competitive? I pick hedge funds for 100 billion. The answer is who stole the pension funds?
So now who comes along into the web they weave? Yes, comrades, the Mao All Stars and the Robed Ones no less. And none too soon. Just how the good old boys and their party of friends will get these folks to drop some big bucks is no secret. All they have to do is to tell them "no". No soup for you. Makes them crazy for soup. Makes you crazy for soup. Gives us soup and be quick about it! Give us all the soup you capitalist lackey! Infidel! Sodomite! Not a good as donuts though.
All the while we good citizen shudder with expectation. Just how bad do they have to make it to get the rest of the greedy sobs to forget about the condom in their wallet? You can hear them can't you comrades? Ha, ha, we screwed you, we own you! You're OUR bitch now! To which we coolly reply: poison pill. You know the kind. Green. Oblong. Dead presidents. All seeing eye. Welcome to our world.
Rest easy good citizen, the party is just getting started. The Robed Ones are upset that oil is 130 a barrel? Not likely. The MAS are as corrupt as they come. Neither are a match for our party of cut-throats. It's good to be in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Cause we are so close to the land of the Maple Leafs and Aztecs if all else fails.
Do you think that if we can get all cell phone users to text a random sequence of numbers and letters all at the same time, we could short circuit big brother's sky net? Goldstein is only here to assist the cause, because, that's what enemies of the state do.

44. In ten years.
Have you a plan good citizen? Have you looked over the horizon or at least contemplated doing so? Yes, all this economic forecasting in the short term is enough to make your head explode. True, there is little good news despite our pleading and prayers to the honorable party members. The disdain we heap upon the bankers, lawyers, and captains of industry is for naught. The thought police are now officially sanctioned or soon shall be with the advice and consent of both ends of the party. Hope is dancing to a centrist beat that mimics plausible denial. Honor is simply lost in the morass of right wing deconstruction-ism. In short, politics as usual.
In ten years the readers of this monologue will be ten years older, hopefully, wiser and prosperous. How shall they get there is the question. Goldstein has deduced the party can not stop the revaluation of the currency. At best, they may not need to attempt to stall it's decline any longer. Why? Economic depression in this country will formant an internal revolution the party can not contain. The fractures that appear across this nation in relative recession's times are understood as acceptable only if food and fuel prices are affordable. That point of wage deflation and basic necessity are at hand now. Given the current value of inflation at twelve percent and unemployment at nine there's not much more room to maneuver in. The party is not going to tax or tax cut it's way out of this one. Without a world war to stimulate the required growth what options are left?
Continue the war on terrorism as cover to control oil flows which is the real-politic of the future. Revalue the dollar in partnership with the G8-9 by bypassing the amero on to the globo. Sign on to a climate recovery plan and institutionalize green technology nationally in exchange for offsets of national debt for investments that bring to the third world clean technology and food production. All possible should the party feel the sting of a nation on fire. The other option is explicitly war with east asia on a grand scale. The end of oil production. The end of western and eastern consumerism. Famine and mass migration and the use of atomic weapons within the oil patch of the Robed Ones.
Based on the greed and self centered lust to power which would the party choose? The possibility they just might come out ahead and remain in power or end civilization as we know it. Having lived through the Regan years, The Return to Empire part 2, the party is weaker now then at any time in history. Thankfully, the good old boys in the great white bunker have set in motion the Decline of the Empire part 2. As always, the party is here for your protection.

45. Wave 3 Protocols.
It is no longer necessary to contend with minor actors armed with conventional weapons despite their intentions to advance insurrection. This function will fall to state/local security systems having provided them with agents loyal to party directives. Complete cooperation within the parameters established among the Central Committee's Wave 3 Protocols have been established. At the discretion of the Central Courts ruling, as to the rights to bear arms, all regulation remains with the security sources as directed and in place. It shall require continued surveillance and operational adjustment to allow discrete usage on a broad though controlled scale. Violence is expected and will occur as enforcement possibilities allow continued requirement of regulation from the community. This expectation is covered under the Wave 1 Protocol, Internal Dimensions of Drug Trade/Counter or Post Constitution Movement. Having established custody of the internal security measures agreed to by the CC, movement to incorporation of national mobilization will go forward.
The requirement to provide a safety net for the citizenry will include commitments to establish secret courts having the power to rule on the availability of unhindered surveillance. Once established, the cooperation of tel/data providers will be required. Contracts to such purposes are not to be included in general financial ledgers. The scope and amount of payments are classified in accordance with CC regulations. The balance of all monies paid will remain tax exempt. The boards of directors and CEO, CFO will be designated as agents in charge where required.
The time line proposed will run concurrently with the advancement of Wave 2 Protocols, Internal Security Cooperation Administration (Home Land Security), with the cooperation of the party.
From the notes not found on the bodies not buried.

46. Big Mac's to little snacks.
Comrades, good news! In the drive to customize the old system of market infallibility, profit and win or manufacture debt and loose, the GSE's Fred and Fanny are sold down. By removing all doubt as to who the parents are, we find the underling reason for the sell down. That there is no confidence in the parents ability to manage their own affairs, what do you expect of their children? More of the same no doubt given the vote of the market place.
There is a alternative proposition as to the reason behind this sell down. It has to do with capitalization and insurance for the larger economy, that populist bank known as equity in home ownership. As the Ministry of Wealth has made move after move to drive excess capital away from the masses and into the hands of the party's benefactors, what is at face value a credit crisis and real estate devaluation; a non recession in the upper echelons, is in fact the means to capture the little fish in a very large net. And it is working with all the clarity of a mud storm. What we do not grasp is the fundamentals of the shift though we see them every day.
The basis to remove the capital from the masses is a necessity to improve the direction in which the party wishes to go. Revaluation to a lower rung for the masses there by improving the profitability and control of the party and their benefactors. By driving down the market price of Fred and Fanny the pay out to the holders of their stock is diminished by 60% or 70%. It is much easier to purchase the shares and buy back the remainder for the party at such prices. Not a take over, a rescue of last resort. Value of equity is the only capital left for most citizens. Remove the insurance or better yet, restore it to the rightful owner's is the party plan. State ownership in partnership with the FED with the help of the Ministry of Wealth. No equity, no capital, more debt, and the party is here for your protection as always.

48. Details.
So we are to have a a bipartisan bail out the real estate cum banking industry with extra sauce no less. One can only watch in dumb struck awe as the good old boys from the great white bunker do their happy dance round and round the board rooms. Prosperity is at hand! The housing market shall surely rebound as the financial sector returns for a third helping at the FED. It just doesn't get any better than this good citizen. So now you have not one, but two massive unfunded mandates in the name of the common good. The second being no bank left behind, too sarcastic? But comrades to dream of the day that the world recognizes corporate welfare can never fail, tears are welling up in your eyes are they not? That warm aura of confidence has returned to the master's of all they survey, for we are told so by some who journey to these very environs.
We are foolish. We are sometimes fooled. Fool me once. No fool like an old fool. Foolish is as foolish does. Goldstein is competent that keeping company with as many foolish folk as possible makes life that much more interesting and by far much more enjoyable. At the end of the day good citizen, we recall our little joys in passing. Tribulations of daily life are told as we walk through the front door. That's what the family is for is it not? To share in the good and banal life offers.
Our fortune is found in those who hold us dear, despite what we get ourselves in to. This is not by any means a confession of wrong doing. For doing wrong is what we do. In contrast to the party that has no family. That is the foundation of all their guiltless pleasure. The separateness to wreck havoc willfully. To confidently tell you off camera, you're about to take a very long walk from a very short pier. Comrades, you have to admit these past eight years have given new meaning to the buck stops here. Given the promise of more to come should your criminal activity be pre pardoned by bipartisan accord. All thanks to the party, bless it's wicked little head.

use of our finite time) to simply ignore it and hope it goes away.

I didn't understand a word of it, either.

49. Mark up.
Additions to the base price of an object or service for sale. What is for sale? What is the base price on the home mortgage bail out? What was the base price of the Bear Sterns bail out? When the next bank fails, what will be the base price to cover the short fall? No one knows. That comrades is not a bother for the few in control of the currency. What is their concern? Wage inflation, asset devaluation, and confidence in the system. Capitalism. Western Capitalism. Their version of Western Democratic Capitalism. The first is a fundamental form of exchange of goods and services for profit. The second includes a system of private ownership, banking and currency. The third is how it stays in business. It is the third that includes the bulk of the mark up.
It is not unreasonable to charge extra to cover the expense of doing business. Profit is a motivation to which most will aspire and work toward. Taxing profit to cover social programs and pay for the defense of the motherland is accepted practice. How can one justify the private ownership of profits yet demand the socialization of private debt to the citizenry? That is where the mark comes in to play good citizen. That is the Democratic part of capitalism. As long as the party requires
capital to function in the form of selling their services, you are indebted, indentured, and diminished. Generation to follow will have less privacy, fewer rights, larger dependency on government programs, and fewer resources then we find for ourselves today. Allowing the party to work its' will is not helpful. Like their counter parts in the private sector they do not fear accountability. They make the rules. They change the rules as they see fit.
If the system of dollar exchange defaults so what? It is the revaluation that was in process the day after Germany surrendered. This country had printed new german marks before the Russians had taken Berlin. The dollar will go the way of the british sterling. No longer the bench mark but still in use. If the markets go down far enough we may amuse ourselves with the cries of un-ruined millionaires and bedecked billionaires for what? Tax cuts! Control of wage inflation policies! Support for the markets by the FED! Unlimited access to the printing presses! Oh, we're already there. Sorry. The party demands you respect the view of the party as all other views are subversive and may cause bloating, gas, headache, cramps and mood swings. Follow the good advice of your mother and spend someone else's money, it won't hurt less but you will feel better.

53. Inference.
Can we question the authenticity of what Goldstein expresses and then kick self same looping proposition down the road? Why not? What is subjective in most minds may not be fact or truth. To that end, we question everything. How intently we query and with what purpose is also open to question. Does Goldstein know something you don't? Or is his perspective of what you know differ from the standard party line? Comrades, do you wash whites with blue jeans? No. That would be contrary to all the directions inscribed for proper care and cleaning. It does not mean you can't. So to with perspective. For example, in a world full of madness, the truthful response would be more madness not less. That being the view held by Goldstein with the benefit of a cynical nature. As the stock market is a very well defined indicator of mood, it is not a good means on which to predict the future based on past results. That said, the reports of doom and gloom has not, to this point, stopped the functioning of the economy. We edge closer to the turn on the cliff wall collectively. Despite the manipulation, media propaganda, Fed intervention, debasing of the fundamentals, overt pandering and back door graft, we still go forward. As if there was another choice? Shall we simply sit down on Labor Day and not get back up? Take an extended holiday? Good citizen, we deserve it surely as much as the party does. We can call it a recess if you like. Then, we can call for investigations.
Why now? Is it the debt by itself that got us here? Is it the good old boys from the great white bunker that did this? The war in east asia? The war on drugs? The war on poverty? The war on the middle class? Better not do the latter, might upset the boomer's perspective. And having ample information on the possibilities that the collective, the hive, the we the people are about to see the formation of a new low in politics of this nation; just where did we go so far afield?
That good old Protestant work ethic? Mind your manners? Do unto others? Keep the faith? Give peace a chance? Pepsi's the one? Got dope? Don't drink and drive? Disco? Paris? Moral hazard? Big brother? Question every thing? Surely not Goldstein?
As if it were yesterday, the party advises you to expect silly season to follow the news, or not.

55. A 300 point war.
Oh joyful and triumphant! Sing comrade, sing! Oh majestic and victorious! Sing comrade as though your life depends on it! The whole army marches forward in all it's true glory!! Sing louder comrade! Ha, you've forgotten the words? Dismal creature that you are. The Army that defeated national socialism is about to secure the future progress of the Persian Pasha-tans and you don't recall the words? Too busy with the swing in the market? Upset you were not in? Did you short the euro? Sell gold? No bother, it will come around in a few weeks. In which direction no one is sure. The need to prove blood will run is not likely to slow down the advance of progress either. The homeland is to be secured at all costs. It must be secure. Why does this act of aggression secure the land of the man in tan?
This past week the Reformed Orange Growers threatened to destroy the new air defense system reportedly for sale by the Czarists to the Persians. That in effect, they could, if they so choose, use an EPM to blind the sensors of the system. This is a very, very dangerous thing for all parties. Which of course was a direct attack at the businesses of the czarists', the oil market, military equipment sales and political counter intelligence against all things un-red. So what will it take to back down the Reformed Orange Growers? What will it take to assure that Gaul est partes tres and shall stay that way? That oil dollars matter? That having looked deep into his soul, this is a man we could do business with? That all things being equal there's a profit to be made? The balance of terror has swung right before your eyes and all you can say is did you see the rally?
But, but, the euro? The euro tanked? It had to. It had no choice. The global banker's have bought another trillion and a half dollars worth of debt last week. The oil-dollar had to be rescued and on what better day then this? Comrades, this is a moment in history. The party loves you.

56. Counting Crows.
They have been few and fewer to count in the past two weeks. Despite summer heat and odd weather patterns, the crows are not around in their normal numbers. Normal being any number that is noticeable due to their insistence to share their space with your's. This is not a good omen. Good citizen, you may not consider omens with much regard, all the socialization imposed upon your personage diminished your place among the wild things. In that respect, both you and the crows have like concerns. The more one seeks to possess things, the more that thing possess' that person or crow. Crows know this, yet they will revisit the same rotting carcass over and over. People too will do like wise, yet deny it all the same. Our socialization supported by the concept of capitalism as opportunity is no different. Some will, given the chance, pick the bones clean and declare all is fair if opportunity exists. We don't think less of the crows, but, we do accept a lower standard for some despite all the opportunity given them.
What justification one uses to defend their actions imposes the question of trust and consequence. Good citizen, judge not, lest, ye be judged; is not a capitalistic concept. Better to come to a solution based on observed actions, rather then explanations, is more in keeping with sound reasoning. So to with crows. If your lot in life is to be left with the odd carcass and this you are socialized into understanding is opportunity then there is no reason to expect better. A feast is a feast is a feast.
So here stands the nation of purple mountain majesty with amber waves of grain waiting for the return of the crows. What has preceded them are the makers of market's, the discounter's, the money lender's, and a sorted parasites telling you there is a feast of opportunity on the way. When you don't hear the crows, comrades, lower your expectations.
The party is as always here for your protection.

57. Post industrialization.
Not something generally discussed at the dinner table, though fewer and fewer folks sit at the dinner table theses days. That is about to change. The time of growing up and leaving home to start one's own life as a rite of passage is in decline. Even those generations older have returned to the nest. The owners in default or upside down or inside out are returning to the home site of their youth or moving in with siblings. After exhausting what equity was loanable, parents have no more to lend. Student loans, credit card debt, car loans, living expenses continue to pile up for young and old alike. Day old bread has returned to a new generation. The elderly find less and less in their shopping carts affordable even with senior discounts and clipped coupons. So the next turn of consolidation begins. A repeat in a different guise of the mass de-industrialization and down sizing of the 70's and 80's has reinstated its' claim on labor wages. The cry that we do not save is correct. The reason we do not save is that we have less to save to start with and less possibility of a return that beats inflation. A penny saved is a penny earned is worth half a cent. If you are supporting a middle class life style, you are in debt unless you are in the top tier of wage earners. That tier finds themselves pulled into extending debt and riskier investments trying to keep up as their prospects decline. Industrialization supported, created, and confirmed the middle class wage earner's quality of life. Development and replacement of the infrastructure to sustain commerce and the tax-tariff codes used to protect and support the middle class is almost non existent. It is not by the grace of god some prosper while others fall by the wayside. If there are no jobs that can support a family on journeyman's wages, the middle class will sub divide into technocrats and bonded labor by mid century. Goldstein grew up in sight of a "poor house", a state run home for the indigent, disposed, infirmed, incapacitated, and consumptive. Comrades, we have counties and cities in this position today. The party continues on. Promises are made anew.
Do you recall the commercial, where's the beef? We propose it become mandatory after all political ads. The party has allowed the entertainment specialists a week off to recover and now the right wing will place them in the position of the Constitution. Bent over and in tears.

58. Odd lots.
Timing is everything. And the plays the thing. Oh, how we are being played. Apparently the best time to seize a major institution is Sunday. Perhaps all the bitter working class pols have left their guns at home while attending church. And being full of forgiveness, the party has no one to answer to. That would be hopeful would it not comrades? Or it maybe the only day of the week one might confess their intentions on the national media's version of which end of the party does the ass really belong to? The new improved change, we keep hearing about. Not that it matters, the party has put us on ignore, we the good citizens of this nation are here to hear. Once again comrades, they have stopped listening to you and I. That courtesy is no longer necessary now that the players are in position. The message they have to put out is so much more important then our grumblings of discontent. How many months has it been that we comrades warned of the submersion of economy? A dozen, more, eighteen or better.
We did change the Congress last go round. To what affect? So far they have managed to increase the debt not only of this nation's government beyond any time in history, now the party soaks up the split milk of the uber wealthy to boot. Comrades, this is the prologue of Germania 1930 repeating itself. The alliance of the wealthy corporations, the military-industrial complex, the security services and media, all humming the same tune.
Case in point, the candidates for chief engineer on either end of the party want to expand and extend military operations in the land of the Stans. Neither will leave Babylon any time soon. And now that there is no money for domestic programs, wait for it, all good citizens will need to tighten their belts if progress is to be made.
Good citizens, back in August the global bankers came together and bought dollars, what do you think the collateral was? What was passed that insured that the Fed had the lawful power to assure the rest of the bankers they had the largest asset class of this nation at their disposal? Bond holders of the GSE's are global banks. It's all about the money. That comrades is why the party is here. You have now attained the status of sharecropper with a blackberry and a 401k. Party on!

60. Next.
Comrades where are we headed? A soft landing is out of the question, even at this stage of the game. The Fed is failing in its' efforts to restore confidence. They are protecting the banks' honor with all the vigor of a drunken sailor. The moral hazard clause is sold short. Double think the proposition of reform of the markets and of the politics of Washington, they are one in the same are they not? How do you change the game and not the dealer or the rules or the bus that got you there? The appearance of change is what the party provides. They have declared change is coming. So too comrades are death and taxes. They are not be able to stop either one. The revaluation set in motion was not to concentrate efforts to debase the value of what they own. Distracted by texting perhaps?
Where are the markets headed? Good citizen, if you heard a screech of tires and a loud crash followed by screams of agony, would you turn on CNN to get the news?
Where is the bottom? As far from the top as to keep you working till seventy years old. Clever how that worked out. The generational war will be in full swing at that point.
What investment choices will we have? Food, shelter and transportation followed by medical coverage. Transportation is iffy, medical coverage more so.
Are you a optimistic or pessimistic about the future? This past week, there were four crows chasing grapes around a parking space with great glee. Stepping on the grape and spearing the skin with their beak's to get at the flesh. Which came first? The crows or the grapes? Does it matter?
The party wishes to affirm the news you are not alone. Did we mention fiber OPTIC cable? So little time when digitally compressed. What kind of insecticide do you use on gold bugs?

61. Unification.
Comrades, we have gotten off course in our view of the consolidation of the markets. The function of the party is to enforce control either directly or indirectly to the extent possible given modern technology. This is important, reliance on church-state,king-commoner,or last century social systems are less effective given the access to information currently available. The deconstruction of old social structures in a drive to individualize citizens was not by happen stance. Removal of the basic economic social order; pensions, unions, home ownership to name a few, is an active program intended to disconnect the worker from financial security. As is the moral issues of church state connection used to drive a wall between workers who vote against their own economic interests. Today, the program is directed at downsizing the equity left homeowners/workers. Having encouraged loose credit and inflated valuations while rising reward expectations, the party has with all intended purpose revalued the economic status of all workers. Wages and savings are no match to the cost of basic needs to at least hold one's place on economic terms. Increasing greater worry and shifting debate to: is your possibility of retirement, your children's education, your access to health care, the fairness of taxation, in the direction of which member of the party will come to the rescue? While the growth of individual wealth and likewise political power is never been more extreme in a counter direction. NO end for the war in east asia in either camp. In effect, the return of a despotic system liken to the Roman Republic. Our democratic twist is to ensure elections of party members to positions of power that completes the cycle of party rule. The most used function in this application remains the media and the propaganda war espoused by the party. The next or an equal partner is regulation or lack of same by governance, the use of law to assure no market will function as it should. The restructuring has gotten out of hand. The party must demonstrate it has control. This power is the highest responsibility and most closely guarded by the party. By consolidation or unification of information systems and regulation, economic global integration takes on new meaning. The bond/debt owen by the Mao All Star's is to be repaid. The loan of the Robed One's is to be repaid. Yet, we good citizen are on the hook aghast that our government will not support the rights of workers to a decent living standard. A standard we will not receive while the party bipartisans us to the rank of serf. The loss of equity and personal pension value has already moved us down from wage earner to indentured corporate servant.
The party thanks you for you time and cooperation.

63. 18 april 2008
We are returning Goldstein's Comrade part 2 to answer the question; when will someone in authority declare we are in a depression?

Goldstein did that on 18 April 2008.

On what authority can Goldstein speak? Comrade, we have offered the only possible choice to correct the underling problem with our economy. Debt. We contend debt forgiveness is the solution. Systematically debt is forgiven starting with the poorest first. We can do it by tax filings if you like. A year at a time. After all personal debt has been forgiven, we can go to a simple tax code. Say 15% on the gross with no exemptions and no credits and no limit on where the money comes from.

Then we pay down the national debt. We invest in the American people first.

A national energy policy that is simple and takes into account green solutions and creates green jobs.

Universal health care is provided to all and charged to everyone on a per capita basis. Yes it is an additional tax. If you want more insurance you can still purchase it in the private sector.

All corporate tax is dismissed along with subsidies, write offs, exemptions, incentives and credits. We end corporate welfare as we forgive debt.

If we are going to be a progressive society, we might just get there.

Or our government can keep doing what we have told it not to do. Then again, Goldstein is an enemy of the state. The party is here for your protection.

66. Do something about it!
What happened to the World Economy was pure evil. What the few did to the many was wrong. It’s time to place the blame where it belongs and get angry. Go to www.stoptheoutrage,org and help us compile and put together the pieces of this puzzle. We are also working to write “The Peoples Amendment to HR 1424.” As one voice we can right the wrongs of the past to save our future.
