Teaching assistants may strike Monday (CSU)
SENTINEL STAFF REPORT

The union representing teaching assistants at 23 CSU campuses, including Cal State Monterey Bay and San Jose State, has announced a strike for Monday, although negotiations will continue this weekend.

About 6,000 CSU student employees are represented by the California alliance of Academic Student Employees-United Auto Workers.

In calling the strike, the union accuses the university of unfair labor practices.

Workers agreed to union representation in January 2004, and the university recognized the union in August. <snip>
