Help! Need info on Xian Right takeovers of state/local GOP organizations
Specifically I am looking for info -- details and facts -- on the religious right takeover of local and state GOP organizations. I know it happened in Iowa and I think in Colorado too? and other states.

Any info, leads, links etc you can provide would be very greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

1. try People for the American Way
www.pfaw.org

I know that they have a right wing section on their website and that might help some

try checking local internet news sites--I know that here in California, the press reported a lot on the fighting between the right wing and the more moderate wings of the Republican party.

4. Texas GOP Platform 2002: The US is a Christian Nation
The Platform of the Texas Republican Party adopted in 2002 proclaims the US as a Christian nation; and if you read it closely, also seems to be saying that our nation is based not on law, but on the Bible

Go here: http://www.txgop.org/library/RPTPlatform2002.pdf

and down to page 6:

Christian Nation – The Republican Party of Texas reaffirms the United States of America is a Christian nation,
which was founded on fundamental Judeo-Christian principles based on the Holy Bible.

Given the influence of Texas Republicans in this country right now, this is kind of scary.
