Judge lets Orly Taitz withdraw as Capt. Connie Rhodes lawyer
Still faces possible $10,000 fine, court costs
By ALAN RIQUELMY - ariquelmy@ledger-enquirer.com

In response to a motion filed Monday by “birther” attorney Orly Taitz, a federal judge has removed her from representing an Army captain who sought to stop her deployment to Iraq by arguing President Barack Obama can’t legitimately hold office.

Judge Clay Land’s order states that Taitz, who represented Capt. Connie Rhodes, is still responsible for showing why he shouldn’t sanction her $10,000 for filing a “frivolous” suit, and that Rhodes remains responsible for paying the defendants’ court costs.

Taitz also isn’t released from honoring her attorney-client confidentiality — a release the California attorney requested in her motion, saying the case had become a “quasi-criminal prosecution” of her and that she would offer evidence and testimony against her former client ... http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/news/story/855604.html

2. Judge To Taitz: You're Not Off The Hook On $10K Fine For Frivolous Filings
... Land, of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, writes in the order today:

The Court further notes that this order shall not be construed to authorize Plaintiff's counsel to breach any attorney-client privilege that may exist due to counsel's representation of Plaintiff. Moreover, the Court notifies counsel that in issuing its show cause sanctions order, the Court did not rely upon the letter sent by Plaintiff purporting to discharge counsel (Doc. 18), nor does the Court intend to rely upon that document in future proceedings regarding sanctions against Plaintiff's counsel. Whether Plaintiff expressly authorized counsel to file the motion for reconsideration is irrelevant to the Court's determination of whether the filing was legally frivolous ...

4. I don't know what Rhodes was thinking: "I would have been happy to serve under
Bush or McCain but I can't serve under Obama" was essentially her argument, for which she could muster only the craziest of excuses
